2026 Winter Olympics

Ugh I am going to find out about the end of this game in a meeting. It’s ok. #forthegame #casualfans #hockeyisforeveryone

Is 3 v 3 OT till the end? Or do shootouts ever come into play?
In the Olympics this year, the gold medal games were never going to the shootout. They play until someone scores. That's why they did 3x3. For various scheduling reasons -- especially the fact that no competition can take place once the closing ceremonies begin -- they had to make sure there were no "forever" games.

Mass start speed skating....
Race based on points and not time? Lame.
Not really. The final points are so high, they render the stage points meaningless. The only thing they are good for are the lower positions, which for the qualifying races can be important. But for the final, the podium is going to be set by the first three skaters across the line.

I'm glad you said this, because I seem to be the only one who picked this up. I haven't seen anyone else make this comment until I read yours.
Couple other WI posters made similar comments on that play. That's one area she needs to clean up is skating through to the end of a play. But in the big picture it's just not her. I've seen plenty of players gliding instead of moving their feet over the years.
