2026 Winter Olympics: Thread Title Under Construction

Forgot the hockey game was on NBC and still had USA on. Short track is the best. Women's 1500 was taking place and the figure skating ice is complete shit for the speed skaters. Soft spot in one corner and of the seven skaters in Semifinal A, six of them lost an edge in the same corner and fell on their own. Second Semifinal had all skaters investigating the corner prior to their run (and watching the ice crew patch and flash freeze the ice with fire extinguishers.

Men's 5000 relay followed and they were a little ginger going into the corners even toward the end.

I get that the ISU really doesn't like using hockey rinks because the padding against the hockey boards isn't as forgiving as on the un-boarded figure skaters rink, but something needs to be done because the ice difference is too much between speed skating and figure skating.

are you saying someone being stretchered off after a group fall and taking a skate blade to the face is a big deal??

I missed that from the quarter final, but yeah.

I get there's going to be incidents. Stuff is going to happen. Edges will be blown. But the pattern of it happening so frequently in these games is just.... something else.
 
Brady Tkachuk is going to get DQ’d for the gold medal game, isn’t he? It want much, but he threw the first punch to the head.

Dumpy definitely won’t be there, Patel will be but at the Olympics he ain’t getting anywhere near the locker room.
