2026 Frozen Four

Here’s the bracket. Penn State with a path to the frozen four at home not having to go thru the wcha. Mercyhurst had that opportunity once and got Captain Canada’ed if I am remembering right? Woof. Good luck!

OSU may need to face UMD. I thought that was scary last year; OSU dismantled them after everyone said UMd is not scary. But the Badgers didn’t want UMD this year?

Minnesota vs NU. Hmm what say the crowd? I will have to go look and see who NU has beat this year. Minnesota, pull yourselves together and act like Minnesota! (If you want to win). Off the cuff, Minnesota should be more battle tested and has Murphy. For God sake should not be that hard.

Franklin Pierce, enjoy LaBahn. We need a NEWHA poster on the board. Not gonna lie, I’m seeing some Quinnipiac hype lately.

Next up, to figure out where these games are broadcast.

The three Thursday games already show on the "upcoming" schedule at ESPN-Plus.

I think I saw somewhere this AM that everything through the semi-finals (!?!) are ESPN-Plus only.

If you think that was a coincidence I have some swampland in Florida that you might be interested in! 😁

When you're watching Princeton vs UConn on Thursday, and you hear the name of the Princeton coach, Courtney Kessel, and (maybe it's just a Madison and Minnesota thing) if you think to yourself "Kessel?", I already looked it up for you.

Courtney Birchard-Kessel is married to Blake Kessel, of the Madison hockey Kessel family. Blake is the brother of NHL Stanley Cup winner Phil Kessel, and of Patty Kaz winner Amanda Kessel. Phil and Amanda both played at Minnesota (despite being from just outside Madison), while Blake and wife Courtney both played at New Hampshire. Courtney herself was a Patty Kaz top ten in 2010.
