2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

The NYT needle still hoding out some hope for Colom(D) in MS-Sen. With about 5% of the vote still out, he is losing by less than 5000 votes.

Edit: HE JUST TOOK THE LEAD!!!

Reports* are he isn't screaming, he's staring at the TV not saying anything. Like Michael Myers.

*I'm not joking, these are actual reports I have read.
Oh, he's the lamest lame duck president that we'll probably ever have seen.

If only a few Republicans manage to find their balls, he's never gonna get another thing done. They've been afraid of him for ten years now, all they gotta do is look over at the new Democrat representative from their state to find something else that they'll be even more afraid of. A pissed off electorate.

While Colom is fun the majority of the county percentages still to report are R strongholds. The hope is Hinds county, which contains Jackson, can somehow overcome them all.

NYT Senate count is now Dems 54, GOP 44, with 2 tossups (AK and MS). They have AK as 64% D and MS as 64% R, so looking like 55-45. +8 Senate seats for the Dems.

If it goes to a runoff (which I think it does if no one gets to 50 percent), you've got to like Colom's chances. Dems will be energized and Rs probably won't bother to show up since the Senate is already lost.

NYT House count now 254 D, 173 R, 8 tossups. The tossups look to break about D3 R5, which would give 257 D, 178 R. A Dem +42 of seats.

The money will pour in for R.

Not every state has runoff. But you would think if the margin is within 0.1% that would trigger at least recount.
