2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

Polk County's early vote tally gave Turek a 31k vote margin for Senate, and Sand a 35k vote margin for governor. The US house candidate for the district is up 29k votes. A few out counties have started to report, and Sand is leading there but Turek isn't.

Sand will get the governor's mansion. Turek will be in a fight. Garriott may be in trouble depending how Dallas County (the main Des Moines suburbs) do.

As more Polk County results come in - Sand has an over 60k edge, Turek has an over 55k edge, and Garriott has only a 45k edge in the county. That said, if she breaks even or comes out slightly ahead in Dallas County, there simply aren't enough votes in the remainder of the district to overcome that.

Voters not showing up or people just sick of the shit? Trump just put out a statement blaming the candidates. Candidates HE recruited and supported

In Kentucky, mostly the latter. Republicans stayed home. Some bluer areas seem to have more Booker votes, but every red area had way fewer Republican votes than 2024 or 2022.

I misread your question lol. I read it as democratic voters showing up or Republican voters not showing up.

IMO, it's voters taking a newspaper to the nose of Republicans for all the shit these past two years.

The real test is if it sticks through '32 and beyond or if the voters hold the same pattern and give the keys right back to the drunk uncle after letting him sober up for two years.

Per the NYT: One of the first counties to largely complete its reporting in Kansas’ Senate race is Seward, a rural county with the highest percentage of Hispanic voters in the state. Adam Hamilton, the Democrat, won the county by double digits after President Trump won it by 40 percentage points just two years ago. The shift is one of many in majority-Hispanic areas around the country tonight.

I'm trying very hard to not be excited as there's still two hours until polls close here and probably 4-5 before we get results.
If Iowa and SC hold and AES wins in Michigan, Alaska won’t matter (but will definitely be a bonus) and then Trump can’t claim the two Sullivsns hurt lol
