2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

The platform IS a winning platform. When asked about many of the types of things (not all) contained in the DSA platform individually, people consistently say they are on board and love the ideas. I have seen it over and over. But, as soon as they hear the word socialism, they back away. The platform itself is popular. The messaging may often be poor. And then add in that so many people in this country are to dumb to understand and have been brainwashed into a Pavlovian response of rage and anger at the mere mention of "socialism" (despite so many things already being socialized in this country) they end up voting against the very things they desire. That platform is far closer to what so many people would actually want and be happy with (including quite a few people on the right) than they realize or acknowledge.
Sorry, I don't believe that things like abolishing the senate, zero borders, government ownership of most large corporations, voting rights to non-citizens, defunding the police etc are winning messages.

Notice I said "not all". But I bet if one were to present many of the parts to voters individually, they would be on board with far more than anything the right, liberals, or "center" are proposing. YOU may not believe in those few specific parts, but I bet you are a lot closer to the other things than you think.

But, from what I can gather from watching interactions recently, you like to view yourself as some middle ground, let's find some compromise, type person. That bullshit was thrown out the window the second that the fat orange sack of shit was elected a 2nd time. There is no more middle ground. There is no more compromise. One side is literally trashing the constitution. One side side literally has no problem at all celebrating the suffering of others. One side is fine with innocent people dying as long as they are the "right" color or religion or nationality. One side is fine with leaders and billionaires stealing anything and everything they want. One side is fine with destroying our environment. THERE IS NO COMPROMISE WITH THAT. Trying to find middle ground with THAT platform (and that IS the maga platform) is giving credence to that platform. Some portion of it would have to be acceptable to find compromise. FUCK THAT.

Exactly. Let's fumigate the fucking house before we worry about which color we paint the bedroom.

It was thrown out the window when the Turtle told Obama his priority was to make Obama a one-term president, not to do anything good for the country. The Democrats never got the message and the 2010's were the worst decade a political party has ever suffered electorally.

More Minnesotans voted for Peggy Flanagan—411,853 votes—in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary than voted for all nine Republican candidates combined—406,823 votes—in the Republican U.S. Senate primary.
Angie Craig, the Democratic runner-up, received 274,920 votes, while Republican winner Michele Tafoya received 211,813 votes.
At least Minnesota gets it right.

I get you are angry. I'm angry too. I'm angry that Biden didn't run in 2016, and I'm angry that he didn't pass the torch so there could be a normal primary process in 2024. I'm angry that the republican party has been taken over by the MAGA wing. If the democrats don't win the senate majority because DSA candidates advanced through the primaries, then i'll be angry about that too.

You say the DSA platform is popular, but the messaging is poor. That sounds like you are saying that people would like it if they just understood it. Don't blame the voters if they don't like the platform. That's like the chef blaming the customer if they dont' like the meal.

Depends. Is the chef brilliant, created a great meal, and the customer is a dumbass pain in the ass who thinks Cracker Barrel is the epitome of fine dining.
MAGA loves Alpo. They could have freshly ground hamburger, but as long as minorities get less Alpo than they do, or better yet have to forage for vermin, they're happy to live in free-dumb.

I appreciate that whatever platform USCHO is using blocks not only posts by Ignores but also quotes in replies to them. That is good service.

If a black person moves into one of the nicer houses in a neighborhood, a Republican resident will burn his whole neighborhood down.

But we should sympathize with them.
