2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

Interesting the less competitive race would get over 50% more turnout. How's that line up with D/R voter registration in MN?
 
Holy shit, there were a few links to X on the primary results sites. I never go there. It is wall to wall Nazis.
 
I should clarify - I do assume that he will try to use the pretext of an "emergency" to issue an EO to suspend mail-in voting from most addresses for the November general contest. Obviously, the order will exempt overseas military and probably nursing home/long-term care facilities as well. They will then dispute any reported mail-in votes that are still counted by the purple and blue states that didn't come from their preferred/Republican-skewed locations, and use that to end up in front of SCOTUS for a decision with Roberts as the decider.

I have not read the changes. I'm very much pro-choice. With that said i don't think it is unreasonable to have some guidelines and restrictions in the later stages .

Edit: Just read it - seems largely symbolic. Changed from "exceptions for life, physical and mental health of the mother" to "exceptions based on the professional judgment of a physician".

To Craig's credit she has already endorsed Peggy after the loss. Pillow guy and his supporters will never support Demuth. And Tofoya is psychotic so there is absolutely no chance there.

However, martial law will be declared for election day this year so I expect all Republicans to win.

What do you consider reasonable restrictions from the govt. over a woman’s healthcare during her pregnancy? Like what restrictions should be in place on abortion that are sensible and “protect” the woman from making medical decisions with her doctor?

From what I’ve read, it’s not symbolic at all. Those words means all the difference. Plenty of conditions that didn’t meet the original narrow exceptions after 24 weeks that meet them now. Plenty of women who had to leave MA to get an abortion can now stay in MA to get one. That means it’s not symbolic. Another thing this law apparently does allow abortions to occur in clinics, rather than always in hospitals, which saves time and money for everyone, from the patient to the insurance companies. That should make any Republican happy.

I’m here for it. I visited my home state a couple weeks ago. I stopped at the Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and George Floyd memorials with my family. Ate at Glam Doll donuts. MN just voted for Flanagan in a smashing manner over Craig. Scoobs, state of hockey, and the rest of you Minnesotans, keep it going.

I wish handy and DGF still posted here. Our MN crew is dwindling.

What do you think is happening with ICE that gives you faith? The fact the American citizen taken into custody in Atlanta wasn't shot in the head? That the new gloves aren't designed to deliver lethal shocks? That Haitian immigrants who were granted protected status but has had that reversed by the child rapist war criminal are just being forced to wear ankle monitors and not numbered arm tattoos?

Because it’s one thing to do it on an isolated, local level, it’s another thing to do it nationwide. Oh sure, they’re going to try, but they’re idiots and won’t accomplish anything. In fact, they’re likely to piss people off with their threats and swing votes towards the Democrats.

It is nationwide. Atlanta. Ohio. Los Angeles. Oregon. Houston. Maine. Massachusetts. Yes, Minnesota still. It's happening in airports all across the country. This is nationwide...

Really looking forward to them shocking people to death with those "non-lethal" gloves and there being no consequences.
