2025-26 Division III Women's Hockey

The NESCAC fatigue is a real thing. Seeing three or four or possibly five NESCAC teams in the tournament every year is a thing. I'm just not sure which teams in the other conferences, 2nd/3rd rank, who could step up into the position of taking an at-large bid from the top of the NESCAC.

But when NESCAC as a league last year went 49-11 against their OOC opponents it becomes harder to see where NESCAC is going to fail.

What's ridiculous is that in the Pairwise/NPI era (2018-19 to present), the NESCAC has a combined record of 4-11-2 (.294) against the West, and a record of 290-72-23 (.783) against all other East conferences.

I can definitely see why the West is so frustrated with the lack of bids they've gotten over the last decade. They've done everything you can ask and more in the chances they get, yet get less respect than most East leagues, who are all dominated by the NESCAC.

I can too. I think the best thing would be to send a pair of NESCAC teams out west for an extended stay. Three weekends, including the games against each other. More than just a single tournament. The problem is, as usual, travel costs. NCAA won't come up with the money, and the schools are reluctant to.

I thought last year was almost perfect, four teams from the West allowing an at large to get in from the MIAC. It's a tough conference, and it seems it's headed towards more competitive balance based on early results and some coaching changes. Not sure the NCHA has a great team to enter this time, SNC is talented but young, Adrian has it's issues, and Concordia WI doesn't have much depth.

Williams and Connecticut College still have to play 2 games against each other.

Williams also still has to face Utica, Colby x 2, Hamilton x 2, Middlebury x 2 and Bowdoin x 2.

Conn College still has to face Midd x 2, Colby x 2, Hamilton x2 and Bowdoin x 2.

I can't see both of them making it.

Totally agree. However, another NESCAC could easily take one of their spots. Likely, Bowdoin or Hamilton

Nazareth beat Hamilton last night and the chain reaction in NPI dropped Conn College from above UWEC to below UWEC and they didn't even play yesterday. I enjoy the coverage from DIIIHN but it really is way too early to panic over a possible 5 NESCAC bracket.

Elizabeth Wulf (Middlebury '18) will be the inaugural coach of St. Joseph's (CT) when they launch next fall.

Wulf was in her fourth season as an assistant coach at D1 UConn prior to this announcement. Prior to joining the UConn staff, Wulf coached as an assistant at Wesleyan her first three seasons after graduating from Midd.

D3HN pod released a midseason recap episode. Good stuff. although I was surprised to hear Adrian as a team with a bit of a slow start. After listening to the rationale though, it makes sense for sure

Really disappointed in Norwich that they put their streams behind a $20 month pay wall. There's not even a per game offering like BoxCast.

Hopefully with the parity that's come to the league Plattsburgh can dump the East/West and find games worth similar SOS value. Disgusting that Norwich would treat the fans of schools that have been good partners since Norwich joined DIII hockey like this.

It is and isn't Norwich's fault. All schools in the LE were forced to use it, like it or not. BTW, even with Boxcast you could watch the low quality broadcast free. HUDL has them all beat.

Looks like Elmira beat Plattsburgh in OT, to my understanding 4 games is now the longest losing streak in Cardinals history since the program began in 2001-02.

Coach Houle responds to a program-worst losing streak by putting the lineup he's used most of the way so far into a blender. Lewis benched with Stetson in goal. Brooke Terry and Kate Conlon scratched for the first time this season. The forward and defense combos have been mixed up in personnel and line number.

Plattsburgh is up 1-0 on Oswego on an early goal from Puc who is at RW3 on the lineup today. The team is taking a lot more shots from distance today.

Also of note, freshman D Nikola Janekova left the Plattsburgh roster during the break. I don't see that she's rostered on another NCAA squad. Janekova is on the Slovakian national team so she may have returned home.

Cardinals beat Oz 4-0 on a Zoe Puc hat trick and one from Molly Riggi to take third place at the East/West.

Norwich dominated Elmira in a 5-2 win where the Soaring Eagles only got back goals mid to late in the third as the Cadets seemed to tire. Norwich wins the East/West.

Speaking of domination, Hamline thoroughly controlled the entire game minus one blip and beat Endicott 5-1. My understanding is was even worse than it looked on paper as the Pipers reportedly had 2 goals called back

The home fans have to pay to watch also.
