I don’t think the timing makes sense. In the immediate term this helps Biden much more than Trump.

Not that I have looked but apparently the Right is going all revolution on the bit calling for an end to the "Radical Left". This is what I mean that his sympathy won't last long...but I will add the media has to wake the F up and call this stuff out. Neither side should be saying the stuff they let the Right get away with saying. Now we are on the precipice and if they soft play him into a hero it is all over but the shouting.
His RNC speech is likely to be non-stop lies and unhinged. That is why I don't think many people are flipping their vote because of this. But if the media continues to destroy Biden and ignore Trump there is going to be violence way worse than all of this. And it won't be us bleeding...check out who the Trumpers were attacking as soon as he left the stage. They turned right to the cameras and started flipping them off and screaming at them.
Think about this...if the guy had better aim the Convention would have been pure chaos because Trump hasn't named his VP yet.
