How people who spend their entire lives playing the political game can't see how toxic being an R has become.

Like I get the racist/Sexist/homophobic roots of R beliefs. But so many of them go against basic self-interest. I just don't get it.

Church. And "Christianity". Where God isn't humble, or isn't kind, or isn't poor. How churches convinced people to not turn the other cheek, I don't know.

But it happened. Instead of Jesus stopping trade, they actually think WWJD is to make money now.

How else could you indoctronate so many people so much and convince them to not just cut their ear off, but stab themselves in the side to spite other people?

Hate apparently works well with church these days.

If they aren't LGBTQ+ or a Minority or a Woman...those hatreds don't even register. The truth is for a lot of these people reality doesn't register.

And I don't even mean that in a "They are crazy!" or condescending way...they just don't put 2 and 2 together. A great example is a meme that has been going around about people complaining about the price of groceries. It lists things we all have like a decently expensive car, a $1000 smart phone with an expensive plan, an expensive TV with cable and internet and there is zero complaining about that. But $.47 per egg is just too much for them to handle. And the point is not to make fun of the people upset...the price of eggs is higher than it was. But people don't put it in context. It used to be that we sacrificed to make ends meet if prices are hurting us. My whole life my parents never had a car that wasn't 10 years old when they got it and they ran it into the ground. They never got new TVs or tech even when the old one fried they bought secondhand. Because of our addiction to innovation and the "newest and greatest" we have forgotten what it was like to just keep the status quo or to weigh the costs and benefits of upgrading.

That doesn't mean that people aren't struggling and the government shouldn't be making sure everything is fair...of course they should! And there are plenty of people who do make those sacrifices every day by taking busses to save money, repairing tech instead of replacing it or just not having it, or buying only essential groceries to keep the bill low...but most of them aren't the ones whining about it in the media. There is a real problem in this country (though primarily on the Right) of cognitive dissonance. Whether it is posting to Facebook on your cellphone you wont get a vaccine because you dont want to be tracked, or seeing your President talk about how he doesn't use teleprompters while standing behind two teleprompters or JD Vance talking about the price of a dozen of eggs being $4 while holding 36 eggs in front of a sign that shows the price as $2.99 for a dozen...people don't realize that reality doesn't match up with what they are talking about.

They sat on their hands figuring the House is likely lost but Trump on the ticket would give them the Senate (likely 50/50 at worst) and so they get their judges and that is all they care about. Meanwhile The NDCC is raising a lot as is the Dem Senate PLUS Harris has so much more than Trump she is giving them millions. I mean they are throwing money at Florida and Texas because polling is shifting and Cruz and Scott are left holding the bag. (Probably won't work but it is worth it if you have the money)
