2021-2022 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

10-0 final Minnesota over RIT. I think we were on running time in the third period.
Have to give a lot of credit to the dozens of RIT fans who made the trip out to Minneapolis. Hope they're having a memorable time in the Twin Cities.

Yale finishes it off and wins 3-1 over Harvard.

Minnesota is getting tired of skating around in the RIT zone. Up 7-0 after 2 periods. Nothing good for them playing this game other than developing bad habits.

I've always thought in a game where the talent is that out of whack that the better team should take the puck back out of the O zone to their D zone to practice getting through the N zone into the O zone. I hope the 4th line got a lot of ice time.

I remember a game where I believe the Gophers were not allowed to play the puck in the offensive zone in the third period, just dump it in and look busy :)

I always thought Hannah Brandt was the best player at looking like she was trying her hardest, not making the opponents look bad, and not not scoring!

Very cool that their fan base had a presence at Ridder. There may or may not have been long trips involved, however. Just thinking out loud, reacting solely to your post:

1. It seems safe to guess that RIT has Minnesota natives on the roster. For friends & family of those players, obviously this series is a can't miss.

2. RIT isn't MIT or Cal Tech. But it is a great school that places grads with companies all over the country, especially in tech savvy areas. Gotta believe that includes the Twin Cities. So you likely had some local alums in the house, taking advantage of a rare opportunity.

Anyhow, good on them for supporting their school, however far they traveled. And good on you for noticing.

Minnesota put up 72 shots on goal and wins 7-1. RIT did score a goal so there is that.

I do believe they were handing out participation ribbons at the end of the game.

That might have been against Mankato when it was almost all freshmen players. The forwards were playing D and the defensemen buzzing the net. There were similar games against St. Cloud.

BC 2-1 over Providence in OT. BC tender should have been kicked out in 3rd period for karate chop to Providence player's neck who was crosschecked into crease by BC defender.

So it makes the Tommies on the road sweep just a tad less impressive.

Yeah...I think that is fair to say. RIT tried being more aggressive with their forecheck on Saturday and it was somewhat effective in the first period but it didn't hold up.

Attendance was 1600. Is that typical attendance or did this bad matchup keep some fans away?

Could be with this matchup but I'm not sure. I think ticket sales for the WisconSIN series in January have sold pretty well.

The men's team was playing right next door at Mariucci (one hour later start time) and this may have affected attendance somewhat.

Rain delay at the Lindenwood game. Both teams sent to their locker rooms on account of a tornado in the area.

Lions up 3-0 with six mins left in 2nd.

Epic meltdown....Tommies score 3 goals in about 3 minutes. Tie game with 4 minutes left. Lions on the PP though .

Lions win in OT. Burt always stands out for LU, Goff (not sure of the name) stood out as well, tons of puck possession in the OT.

Watch about 20 minutes of that game and saw 5 goals.
