2021-2022 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

BC closed it out pretty well. The officials did a good job of not calling the ticky tacky stuff for most of the game, but in that third period, those whistles needed some work! After a couple of borderline calls put BC down 2 skaters, an even stranger call evened one of those up. Nice work by the Eagles to force the puck out of the zone and get the empty-net goal to seal it, 3-1.

Harvard takes the Beanpot, 5-4 in a barnburner. Becca Gilmore MVP with GWG and 5 points for the tourney, BC's Abigail Levy with the Joe Bertagna Beanpot goalie award with 99 saves!

Quinnipiac comes from behind to win on the road at Harvard, 2-1, with Olivia Mobley netting the winner.

St. Cloud wins the extra point in the shootout over UMD. Scoreless after one, tied 1 - 1 after two and regulation. Both teams play in Duluth this weekend.

Duluth changes goalie and squeaks by Mankato 5 - 4, Mercyhurst beats Penn St. 4 - 2, Quinnipiac over Clarkson 5 - 1, Syracuse over RIT 3 - 2, LIU over Post 8 - 0, Sacred Heart beats Franklin Pierce 5 - 3.
Ohio State with an early goal over St. Cloud.

Hey Tony….nothing you can do about bounces! When did BC women’s program begin? I missed any dates during the between period piece….the photos looked as early as UNH but I know that’s not accurate…maybe as a club but not varsity….thanks!
At least you never have to watch the futility of UNH! They were horrid Tuesday night!

It was 1973, club team. https://bceagles.com/sports/2021/2/14/doxie-mccoy ... pretty cool story.

Ugh... we better win something next year, this is getting depressing...

Here is a question for all the followers of the various conferences: what is the format for rest of the games through the playoff season? Will we see 3 on 3 followed by a shootout? 5 on 5 sudden death until a winner is decided? Other variations? Will there be consistency throughout the NCAA? I looked for the WCHA but couldn't find anything after a rundown of their website. Thanks in advance.

To the best of my knowledge, the WCHA will be using full 20 minute OT periods; 5x5; with standard 15 minute intermissions. Play normal hockey until someone wins. One difference: There will be an "ice maintenance timeout" at the first whistle after the 10 minute mark of each OT.

I'll let posters from the other conferences speak for their leagues.

I sure thought I was going to find out last night how overtime in the WCHA worked in person.

Check, on it being no fun when the team is out of the fun early on! :(
I remember “those days” because I’d hang around for their warmups, pre-practice and get in nets for some fun! Their first 5 years officially varsity, Coach McCurdy was asking recruits to go play at other choirs to develop their programs….
UNH was 109-1-2 when in 1984, Providence accounted for the 4 loses, including the championship!
When they finally put a women’s locker room in Snively, it had baseboard heating…the men’s didn’t! ‍♂️

You are correct regarding the WCHA. Some of you might remember the UMD versus BSU WCHA tournament game a two or three years ago that had three 20-minute OT periods before BSU won it in the fourth overtime.

Yale scores with 31 seconds left in the 2nd to take a 2-1 lead over Princeton. Good broadcast/picture on ESPN3.

Meanwhile, almost a full season after the demise of collegehockeystats.net, none of the conferences show any capacity to do basic updates. The ECAC website currently shows Yale up 2-1 in the 3rd period, but their own Live Stats say that the game hasn't started yet. None of the other conferences are consistently any better.

These people don't seem to understand how bad this makes them look. They clearly don't actually care about women's hockey enough to do basic coverage.

Yale scores into the empty net to make it 3-1 with less than a minute to go.

And that's a final. Princeton is eliminated while Yale will play for the ECAC playoff championship.
