The only possible entertainment on the (R) side of the primaries is if the Dems take the House and their actions in 2019 hamstring Trump into the low 30's. Then Trump might get a moderate opponent about as effective as Buchanan's extremism in '92

Its also incredibly unlikely based on history as only one elected president, Franklin Pierce, failed to secure his party's nomination when he wanted it. trump's base IS the republican party. If he hasn't been poisoned by the Russians, he will be the republican candidate for president in 2020.
