Westin Michaud lifts Gerard's stick in the neutral zone to take the puck away, and finds Weatherby along the far boards, who skates the puck into the Mavs zone. Weatherby then muscles past Hookenson to get to the bottom of the far circle. Weatherby tosses the puck on net, which McKay is able to get a piece of, but Pinto is right on the top of the crease, corrals the rebound, and punches it through McKay's five hole to tie the game back up at two aside.

Both sides flying up and down the rink right now looking for the go-ahead goal. Michaelis brought the puck in through the neutral zone, flipped it over to Tuomie at the far circle, and Tuomie unleashed a one-timer that flew over the crossbar, rang off the glass and came to Sowder's stick at the bottom of the near circle. Sowder dished it back to McNeely, who wristed the puck on net that sailed through traffic just caught Scheel's stick. North Dakota then got the puck, and gained the neutral zone before Poolman flipped the puck in to the Mavs zone. Cole Smith won the race to the puck near the far corner, and found Senden in the slot. Senden's wrister was on target, but McKay's outstretched glove nabbed the puck before crossing the goal line and we remained tied at 2.

Kiersted gains control of the puck in the UND zone, and then threads an absolute beauty up the ice to Pinto, who attempts to split the Mavs defensemen, but has the puck just knocked off his stick. Pinto wins the race to the loose puck at the bottom of the near circle, and finds Michaud streaking into the slot. Michaud's one-timer beats McKay, but rings off the near post. North Dakota that close to taking the lead.

North Dakota will head to the powerplay. Kawaguchi gains control of the puck along the near boards and pushes it back to Benard-Docker, who passes it over to Poolman. Poolman then unleashes a slapper from the top of the slot that deflects off a Mavs' blueliner and wide of the net. The puck caroms off the boards and right towards Kawaguchi's stick. MacKey slashes Kawaguchi's stick to prevent the Grade A chance, and the ref's arm goes straight up. UND will go on the man advantage.
