Mankato kills the penalty. McKay absolutely keeping the Mavericks in this one at the moment. SOG has flipped, with North Dakota now up 30-29.

GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL. Nathan Smith.
Against the run of play. Smith pokes the puck past a pinching Ethan Frisch along the near boards, and he is off to the races. Kiersted tries to cut off Smith, but he simply cannot catch up to the speedy freshman. Smith races is on Scheel, and lifts a wrister just over Scheel's glove and into the back of the net to give Minnesota State the go-ahead goal.

So close... Adams wins a puck battle behind the net and dishes it over to Kawaguchi in the near corner. Kawaguchi starts cycling back behind the net, but then threads a perfect past out to Bernard-Docker at the top of the near circle. Bernard-Docker toe drags the forward, and skates to the top of the slot and rips a wrister low stick-side. McKay gets a leg on the puck, which deflects over to Mismash, who first a wrister on net, but McKay flashes leather once again. Mavericks keep their one-goal lead.

The clock is moving too fast for North Dakota...not fast enough or Minnesota State. Mavericks doing an impressive job of limiting North Dakota's opportunities in the Mavs zone, and the puck has seen a lot of the neutral zone of late. UND fans getting nervous.

Pinto wins a draw back to Bernard-Docker, who dishes it over to Poolman at the top of the slot, and Poolman rips a slapper on net that Pinto gets a stick on, but it deflects wide. Michaud gathers the puck, and passes the puck along the boards to Smith at the near boards. Smith skates to top of the near circle and flips a wrister on net. McKay gets a piece of it, and for a moment the puck is lying on top of the crease. McKay jumps on the puck, just beating Pinto's push for the tying goal.

North Dakota controls the puck for the rest of regulation, and when the third period horn sounds, we're going to need extra time to decide this one!
