2020 Democratic Challengers

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

Yet the Republicans continue to feed their voters a **** sandwich and they keep coming back for more.

The natural constituency of the GOP is 30% of the 60% of people who currently vote: 18% of eligible voters. The other 82% are all up for grabs. Literally half of those people do not vote because the choice between the two corporate parties is so loathsome.

Save democracy; save the world.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

Plenty of blame for the DNC for ramming through the nomination of corporate toadies, identity princesses, and party apparatchiks.

Companies that blame the customer for not buying their sh-tty product go out of business.

Nobody wants to buy the old CorporateDem crap anymore. The Dems thrive when they are a real left party, and they die when they are Republican Lite.

This is stupid on multiple levels. If you need a product, and only two companies sell it, you either choose the best one or you suffer. Too many lefties chose suffering, and now they're sitting around with their thumbs up their arses trying to figure out how total GOP control of the government is a bad idea when they were all told there was no difference between the parties so it was okay to vote Trump or stay home.

So, to reiterate, I will take my extra tax cuts and laugh all the way to the bank. In the meantime, I've got enviros crying because coal and fracking are back in vogue, stoners crying over the crackdown on pot, anti-plutes crying because of massive tax giveaways to the rich, and all the time they're thinking...if only there was SOME WAY to have prevented this from happening????? Either the left can wake up and participate in elections, or they can lose. Its not any more complicated than that and if the nominees up and down the ballot are "corporate toadies, identity princesses, and party apparatchiks" but will vote mostly for the policies we want, you can either get your head out of your rear end and support them, or continue to watch the .1% take everything that's not nailed down. Your choice Kep.

Good luck with that. Obama was about as aspirational a figure that I've ever seen and he epic failed when you add up the numbers.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

However the overall point is a good one which is its better to pass laws than executive orders.

Yup.
And it feels more Constitutionally procedural too.

That whole "make laws, enforce laws, review laws" three-legged stool thing ...

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

I got in trouble for saying that not long ago.

As I recall you got in trouble because you were using it for false equivalency and to whitewash the sh-tshow the GOP has become.

The Democrats are rickets. The Republicans are ebola. Now, sure, of the two, I'll take rickets.

But I'd rather be healthy.

Not sure if this is true everywhere to this extent, but if so its likely in part perpetuated on all sides.

DFL government in MN has done a masterful job of eliminating this hierarchy and creating a cooperative among all these groups. Each serves a valuable role in society and plays it well...and each is benefiting mightily here:

Minneapolis tops list of US cities with best average credit score: Experian

https://www.usatoday.com/story/mone...rs-since-2007-national-average-cr/1021764001/

1. Minneapolis MN 709
2. Rochester MN 708
3. Mankato MN 708

Having said that, I'm not sure about our new Minneapolis Mayor Frey. He's from the east coast and is talking much more like an old school socialist than a true enlightened collaborator.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

Uh...good for you?

Sure.

It really comes down to the approach to government. Its about cooperation between the state, business and the people. Its not this institution is 'bad' - each plays a valuable role and government is high on that list.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

I must be missing something. What the **** does credit score have to do with anything?

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

I was polled about the 2020 primary today. 'Would you vote X, Trump or other" in a national vote, and then who would you support in the primary.

Choices, in order, were:

Warren
Booker
Bernie
Oprah
Biden
Kamala
Gillibrand

FWIW, I gave a yes to all vs. Trump, and Kamala in the primary.

From that list I would probably pick her or Warren. Neither of them has a shot.

Frankly that's a pretty bleak list. Oprah still has the best chance to win.

Trump's chances are not nearly as bas as his popularity would indicate. The markets are going to run for a while longer making him look much better than he should - cut anyone's taxes by a third (in this case corporations) and they will be quite happy.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers

Doesn't strike me as an all encompassing list. No Sherrod Brown, Andrew Cuomo, Jay Inslee, etc. Oh, can't forget The Rock either. ;) (why does he keep getting brought up?)
