The laws are **** and need to be fixed. That will never happen. As of now Big Pharma STILL has had nothing done to it to fix it's prices. Epi-pens? Insulin, etc. And that's just health care. The EPA has been gutted. The Supreme Court is gone. But, hey, laws are still in place. Duckies and bunnies. Hell, the Dems even lost on the Mueller probe. So much winning.

If Republicans want to make 2020 about healthcare, then they're even dumber than I thought.

Let them get the ACA tossed out in court, end Medicaid expansion for millions of people, and see how many votes they get.

Healthcare sucks, but we can’t do anything about it because sometime in the future republicans will fight it, so we should just sit and do nothing except complain about how healthcare sucks.

The GOP needs to try to make the election about The Brown Menace and Those Commies Will Take All Your Money. Those twin perennials are always enough to sweep Dumbf-ckistan and give them a fighting chance. Then he needs some social issue to tub thump, and it looks like he's going with Baby Murderers!!!11! -- a big seller in the pulpit.

Health care is death for the GOP. The Dems made it the centerpiece in 2018 and we destroyed the right. Now imagine a situation where the economy either has fallen or is teetering and people are feeling insecure about their jobs.

I wonder if the Rs are betting that it will be healthcare, and that the dems will nominate a single payer advocate and they think that is not winnable for the dems

That's certainly possible. We'll never get Single Payer if the ACA stays in place -- too many rice bowls will get overturned -- but if they detonate health care they scour the terrain all the way back to a moonscape, and at that point the Dems may (should) go with the simple, clean solution, rather than reviving the Baroque monstrosity of universal insurance.

Not necessarily true. I invite you to read through this wonky but excellent piece that I posted before about the House bill to basically give everybody single payer except for those on employer sponsored insurance, while giving those people the opportunity to switch if they'd like.

A reasoned, well thought out bill that's paid for. After voting rights, this is the next one I'd like to see passed.

No, I said if you want to play with yourself to perceived bad news that's between you, the people who live in your house, and your neighbors if you keep the shades up. However, if you could keep that off of the message board we'd all appreciate it! ;)

I'd back if it the inevitable cold equations squashed the insurers in a generation. Those folks are useless blood suckers second only to the finance industry.
