Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers VII: Bon Voyage Beto

I'm not very happy either. I don't find anything about his policy positions appealing.

I'm a card-carrying Jacobin here to tell you he's fine. He'll certainly be better than Biden, he projects that down home Midwestern salt of the Earth man of the people rough hands from working soldier for his sniff country pose that voters fall for, and the only bigots who won't vote for him because of the Hershey Highway are Republicans already.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers VII: Bon Voyage Beto

Warren has hurt herself with her health care plan. I would love to vote for her but I honestly see that working against her the rest of the way.

Apparently The Edge is gaining steam at a furious pace.

Its not her plan or her idea which is why she always seems like she's off her game trying to defend it.

Frankly, while I appreciate the goal I don't feel M4A is viable in the timeframe the candidates are suggesting. Plus we're squandering a BIG advantage we have right now on the ACA. If Dems ran on a "expand Medicare to start at age 50" platform you'd go a good ways towards M4A while at the same time splitting the GOP base in two as those older voters are going to get a tangible and immediate benefit from voting Dem. On the flip side the whole disruption plus eye popping tax #'s is going to distract from the "better off in the end" argument that M4A is making even if that ends up being true.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers VII: Bon Voyage Beto

I wouldn't run on M4A. I would run on saving ObamaCare, get into power, and then enact M4A.

Exactly. People are going to look at the 50 trillion or whatever it is (the GOP will say 100 trillion, Dump will say 500 trillion) and they won't think about the fact that over the same timeframe for the same coverage we're spending twice that out of pocket.

Run on saving the current protections and expanding coverage around the edges, get power, then take it to the house.

Pete Buttigieg, Harvard educated, speaker of 7 languages, former McKinsey consultant, comes off as "salt of the earth" and "rough hands"? LMAO.

He does, though. You show him in khaki and the morons lap it up.

Let's use the Forever War to our advantage for once.

When Handy and I both agree we have a f-cking big enough umbrella. :)

Part of me wishes running on M4A would be the right tactic (just like I assume it would be for you) but if that were the case Bernie would be winning in a walkaway. If the people want to elect someone a little less radical fine...they can move Left when they get in position to do something with it. The same people who dont like M4A now will have no issue with it once it is enacted. Then, when the GOP tries to take it away they will implode even more than they did when they tried to end ObamaCare.

The guy who was born into wealth, 'borrowed' a few hundred million from his dad, lived in a NYC penthouse and ****s on a golden toilet while tweeting about how unfair the world is to him is a "man of the people."
The guy who was the grandson of a senator, son of a president, a legacy admit to Yale and member of the Skull & Bones had a folksy charm and a man with whom people wanted a beer.

Which is just more evidence that facts don't matter to Democrats either.

I can read. I read this. This is from the guy who said facts matter. Meanwhile your post above is an opinion stated like it is a fact.
