Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

I realize it’s Kansas but it reads like something you’d see in a paper from 1850.

It's not just Kansas

The sickest patients are often the most indebted, and they’re not exempt from arrest. In Indiana, a cancer patient was hauled away from home in her pajamas in front of her three children; too weak to climb the stairs to the women’s area of the jail, she spent the night in a men’s mental health unit where an inmate smeared feces on the wall. In Utah, a man who had ignored orders to appear over an unpaid ambulance bill told friends he would rather die than go to jail; the day he was arrested, he snuck poison into the cell and ended his life.

Utah, Indiana, and Kansas. I can’t think of anything they all have in common.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

Pete's positioning himself as the "well-educated centrist" candidate for many years to come. Once M4A is a thing and progs shift the message to silly nonsense like putting all Americans on the dole (UBI), he'll be right there posturing about how that goes against the spirit of the American Dream™ and other stuff that sings to Ma and Pa Kettle. ;)

Hillary attempts to ring the silent alarm on Tulsi.

And this is why Facebook was something I decided I could live without.

It's a strange comment when "we aren't the arbitrators of truth" or "free speech" were right there to pick off the tree.

Next time I get nailed for petty theft I'm going to tell the judge "it's just something we have to live with, your honor." I'm sure he'll let it slide.

DIAF Zuckerberg you lazy ****.

All of these fat cats are looking at Lizzy's polling #'s and seeing the writing on the wall in terms of regulation. I'd expect Zuck to completely turn over the Facebook platform to the Russian intelligence service in the week leading up to the election.

Can't pass legislation without the Senate on your side. A hypothetical POTUS Warren's going to be hosed on that front.

Win the WH and there's a 50/50 chance the Senate comes with it. Dems need to go balls to the wall on those Senate races as well. I don't want to hear that some 1 term Senator running for re-election is somehow untouchable. Its entirely possible Chump gets re-elected but its also possible he gets crushed and takes his party with him. Right now Dems seem to have done a decent to good job of recruiting for key races.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

For those obsessed with numbers

President Drumpf holds a slim lead in Iowa over former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) in hypothetical match-ups, according to a new poll.

The survey by Emerson College found that 51 percent of registered voters said they would choose Drumpf over Biden. Respondents favored Drumpf by the same 51 percent-49 percent margin in a match-up against Warren.

The reverse was the case for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). Fifty-one percent of voters said they would pick him over Drumpf, who garnered 49 percent support.

An additional problem if either Warren or Sanders win the presidency is that both Vermont and Massachusetts have Republican governors (how the **** did that happen, btw?) and any replacement will likely be an R.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

So in other words, Idiots Out Wandering Around would feel more comfortable replacing one angry, old, white demagogue who divides the country with another angry, old, white demagogue who divides the country. Awesome!

Not everyone. Some of us are obsessed with policy.

And some of us would like to know exactly how the tax increases and loophole closures will pay for said policies. How does the money flow?

The point is the Old Tyme Fear, instilled in liberals at birth and I'm sure only coincidentally convenient for the status quo, that the farther we move Left the more we alienate the flyovers, is dead wrong. America's middle isn't afraid of radical solutions, it's just sick of the business as usual of elites taking them for a ride. Some of them think "elites" means those annoying Poindexters who "think they're so smart" but most of them have sussed out it's the rich who have been raping them for the last half century.

So they're gonna let Trump keep bending them over and fcking them in the arse, rather than elect Warren?
