2020 Democratic Challengers V: Bye Felicia

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers V: Bye Felicia

I have a hard time believing NC is going to flip. There are dem areas, like Raleigh, but not many compared to republican.

The Dems also have to win by a couple of hundred thousand ballots because of voter suppression.

NC doesnt have to flip for him to lose. If he cant hold his slim wins in Sconnie, Michigan and Pennsylvania he is out. He isnt flipping any more blue states his way.

edit: that actually gets the Dems to 278 so they would need either the two split states to add another Dem (not likely) or find another state to win.

If we're flipping NC then the election is a runaway. It's the usual places one more time: PA, FL, OH, MI, WI.

This is correct...though FL and OH could be rendered moot if they can flip back 3 of them and find 3 more votes somewhere.

OH may be lost forever, the demographics seem to indicate it's only getting stupider. And FL seems to be OH's retirement toilet, so it's probably gone too.

I think GA goes blue before NC, but anyway if we're even sniffing around there it's over.

Eventually I assume Tundra Appalachia (OH, PA, MI) goes red just as The New South (VA, NC, GA) goes blue. And then we fight to the death in AZ and TX.

GA is going to be hilarious because as it grows and Rust Belt blacks flee back home, it will become our first black-dominated state and also the richest and most successful state in the South and leave all those racist f-cks throughout AL, MS, TN, and SC sputtering. Turns out it was the Scots-Irish who were shiftless all along...

Scooby is gonna be mad at you ;)

Since I have never been to either I cant say what will happen in NC or Georgia. I have a hard time believing either would go Blue but I fully admit I am a biased Northerner who doesnt think kind things about a lot of people in those States ;) I assume the only Blue areas of those states are the colleges and cities but I couldnt even guess at what the percentages are or the rural/metro breakdown.

We will see...we just dont know how any of these candidates (outside of Biden really) are thought of in many states. Yeah we have polls showing they can beat Trump but we can all name the flaws with that at this point. The amazing thing to me is you look at the breakdown of some of the states Trump won and it is just so close and there are just so many factors.

LOL

Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are still more in play then Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.

However, I do agree that Georgia eventually will be bluer than either Michigan or Pennsylvania unless something changes.

Nah, Scoob and I are saying the same thing. In the short term the Rust Belt is where it's at.

In the long term the political landscape changes. I think I know where the battles will shift to but it could be something else. The GOP is on the verge of falling off a cliff unless they reverse their direction from fascism. How (if) they do that will change things radically. We could be coming to the end of the sixth party system.

Current favorite: warren
Most Likely: Warren
Effective: Warren
Alignment: mayor Pete? Amy? Not really sure. What was that site that used to rank your candidates?

Good.

That's what I want to see.

I'm serious, I want to see the Dems be a true left party again and let the GOP be their 50's version.

I just saw the Tracy-Hepburn film State of the Union, which posits a Republican platform for the early 50s. It's farther left than AOC.

We have fallen a long, long way, and when you look at our national spirit it shows. America used to be a place where people cared about others. Now it's just a cut throat boiler room. We sold our birthright for a mess of pottage. We retreated into a fearful, hateful corner in the name of cough "conservatism."

Do a search for the actual Repubs platform from, I think, 1956. Reads like the Communist Manifesto.

It was a joke poking fun at Scooby going off the rails about the Dems trying to win states he thinks are "lost". I think we are all on the same page to varying degrees :)

Current favorite: warren
Most Likely: Warren
Effective: Warren
Alignment: In most tests it is Bernie but apparently according to the test Kepler put up (which was pretty bunk) I am closest to Castro (who I dont much like) with Harris, Beto, Warren and Mayor Pete tied for second. (Tied for third is Bernie, Amy K, and Crazy Crystal Lady  )

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers V: Bye Felicia

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers V: Bye Felicia

86% Biden (!!)

I got 84% Biden and like you it was the last Dem before the dropoff to the Rs.

I think it's the lowest you're going to get for a Dem until you start answering things like "I think we should kill and eat all Muslim immigrants at the border; it's the only way to be sure."
