And for claiming Native American Heritage... after having been called out on it at least seven years ago when she was using it during her senate race.

No it really isn't, she still claims NA heritage based on some ridiculous one drop rule despite Cherokee Nation, six years ago, literally telling her based on genealogy that she clearly isn't NA and yet she still doubled down on it and didn't adopt any of their customs or do any of the things that are required to gain tribal membership. So why exactly is she still peddling it despite the fact that she hasn't even shown the slightest amount of interest in the affairs of natives or during the DAPL protests? Why did she make up the story about her parents having to elope? Why did she put her heritage as Native American on the bar application despite it supposedly not being used to benefit her in any way? And keep in mind she'd be going against Trump who is going to use the anger over people benefiting from affirmative action to suppress enthusiasm for her in a country that literally just voted for him four years ago. You'd have to have blinders on to not see this as a potential threat to her candidacy and given that you're her prime demographic it's not shocking.

On the flip side you potentially have, "old man got basic medical procedure a year ago and is fine", which is actually very easy to explain.

Is it not a crime to just straight up fabricate stories like this? It's at least the third or fourth time he's done something like this. On top of his securities fraud, I don't know how he's not in jail.

You can say anything you want about an elected official. Anything. I remember taking a Constitutional Law class with John Martin when he was the speaker of the Maine Legislature. Term limits had just passed and he was leaving office. He said he couldn't wait to be a private citizen again and as soon as a columnist or political cartoonist said a peep about him he would make an example of them. No one took the bait.

I mean, I get why libel and slander laws are fairly weak, but in the case of his Buttigieg hoax, there is literally proof of him going out and trying to recruit people to make false accusations. It's hard for me to see how that isn't illegal.
