I don't disagree. Time for Biden to step down.

What you took from that and what I took from that are two very different things. I'm of the opinion that he's saying the Dems shouldn't allow the GOP's minions to oust members on trumped up issues after having an imbalance of action at the margins of real issues.

I think Scooby's reasoning is more "by any means necessary" to dump Handsome Joe.

FWIW I don't agree with it either in substance or as strategy. In substance: Franken was actually guilty of the things he was accused of, whereas with Biden it's just the usual Echo Chamber rabble rabble rabble chorus. In strategy: we're reactive enough as it is. We should operate as if the BVPS does not even exist. They are going to do the thing they do, like a lunatic patient screaming about being Napoleon. We need to take care of our game. Good process will maximize the likelihood of good results.

Franken hasn't been found guilty of anything. The difference between him and Biden is that the Biden Ukraine allegations are not within the realm of reality, while Franken's were at least plausible. But that doesn't mean they're substantiated.

There's footage of Franken's dumb joke in the copter. Even though it was obviously a joke and even though in the atmosphere of professional performers that is less than nothing and even though it was a cynical exploitation by a Republican operative, he still did it. He was guilty of an action which was so easily portrayed as juvenile and predatory that he had to go. That was his "guilt."

This is as opposed to Biden which is just a lie like the Birthers.

There's a huge difference.

The photo is the real problem because its existence gives everything weight. The rest was really sketchy. You could sink anybody on those kind of allegations. For an individual person it's less of a big deal because the most likely reason for a spate of accusations, not knowing about each other, is truth. But for a public figure, with each allegation reported, every police department can tell you the second A story hits the news 100 people suddenly "remember" the same thing happening to them. Mix in politics with a reasonable assumption of animus and cui bono and it becomes really dicey.

If it hadn't been for the photo I'd have been behind Franken saying "this is BS" and staying.
