Booker isnt leaving the Senate for VP...and seeing as Klobuchar is pushing the Opiod Crisis as one of her main platforms having someone who is in bed with Big Pharma probably isnt a good idea.

Beto has the charisma from the dental chair; but, what evidence do we have he could run the Federal government better than Trump or Oprah?
A three-term Congressman doesn't scream "ready to be the Executive" to me.

Obama did just fine and he had similar experience...

And no one will be as bad as Trump. Trump doesnt understand there are three branches of government even today. Beto may not have executive experience but at least he has some idea what Washington is and what the Federal Government entails.

I'll have no problem voting for Oprah, Gillibrand, Klobuchar. Whoever. It will be a straight "D" ticket for me. I'll watch the Republicans debate and convention and wonder to myself again how they haven't a single fresh new idea for solving any of the countries problems or issues. Was watching James Lankford on MSNBC this morning. He's one of those deficit hawk Republicans who voted for the tax cut. Apparently he found some way to mash the numbers so it looks like they took in an extra 14 billion last year in revenue do to increased economic activity. I was hoping Mika would ask him what drug he was on so I could get a big pharma prescription for it myself. He also said the Wall wasn't a waste of money but he has an update to his book Federal Fumbles or was just pushing the paperback on the show. The book "Federal Fumbles 100 Ways the Government Dropped the Ball" can be found on amazon.

People are getting to caught up in dream tickets right now. As Dems are in like 95% agreement on the issues I'm looking for whoever connects with voters the best. If that's Bernie, that works. If its Harris, Warren, Booker, Brown, Inslee, Hickenlooper, whatever. I'm good. As the mid-terms showed, even with Chump's base totally engaged they can't outvote the Dems IF ALL of the Dems, not just one side of the spectrum or the other, shows up. Yes, that requires threading the needle as well as voters not focusing on the 5% of issues where there may be differences between Dems. Chump's main focus for his re-election will be using his Russian allies to sow dissent amongst Democrats. Don't like the treasonous cult members win.

Once that's settled I have one requirement on VP which is that its not a sitting Senator who's seat will be lost if he's on the ticket (looking at you Sherrod).

Yep. We are in accord. Uprooting the terrorists is way more important than the difference between a moderate and a liberal. Plenty of time to pendulate the Plutes after we've removed the existential threat to the democracy.

You know, I'm curious where you're at one this, but I have a much bigger issue I'd like to see addressed first and foremost and it isn't the plutes. Dems need to pass fundamental and sweeping voting rights reform in this country. That's gotta be bill #1. You can't have states purging the rolls a month before the election, or putting one voting machine in an inner city precinct while putting 1,000 in a precinct where cows outnumber people. Early voting methods and timelines also need to be clarified. I wouldn't include gerrymandering legislation yet for fear of getting the entire law struck down if that ends up being unconstitutional but the rest is a slam dunk and will ensure fair elections for generations which is key to Dems retaining legislative seats.

5. Strike the Electoral College from the Constitution or effectively end it through coordinated state action.

6. Reform the Senate and curtail its powers.

My plans to achieve a genuine "republican form of government" as one person/one vote representation, ordered by current achievability:

1. Somewhere I said I'd require a US passport (proof of citizenship to vote) and would require it be provided free to citizens. That's all it takes to vote.
2. Yes, districts based on "distance to polling station" or other analytic criteria, and not something that looks like chimps had maps and crayons.
3. Up to here I thought you were serious. That'll never happen.
4. Mandatory retirement age.
5. Nope. Not going agree with a system where someone can become POTUS after campaigning in maybe 150 square miles of the country.
6. Return the Senate to appointments by Legislatures*. Repeal A17; go back to the original wording of Article I, Section 3.


*Drive the importance to more local legislative bodies and away from the Federal behemoth. We have 50 experiments in representative democracy. Let's better use them as laboratories to find the best solutions.
