Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers III: Weekend at Bernie's

Amy K has progressive, yet realistic, ideas. And she happens to get Rs to work with her. Want progress? There you go. That is my feeling. While I love AOC's energy (and JFC pair that with Amy K's plan???? That is a beast right there), she is not realistic. Nothing would get done.

That's where I'm coming from.

AOC helps drag the Overton Window back to the middle after decades of watching it move further and further to the right. That's her job, right now.

Speaking of Overton, he was our boy. However, let's not pretend he wasn't a Republican. The MCPP is a conservative think tank.

Just sayin', you ain't gonna get the pendulum to swing back that hard that fast. So, let's get things done in a gradual manner.

Ronald Reagan. Bold. Got things done. Almost solely responsible for the complete destruction of the middle class. Started the revolution that reached it's peak with Trump, Gorsuch, and Turtle Boy's stealing of yet another 1.5 trillion dollars.

Not fer nothing, but Archie bunker and the middle class were DOA for a decade before Ronnie showed up.

Sure, and there were two ways to go. Save the middle class and the country, or destroy the middle class and the country. Which way did the GOP go? I'll give you a hint............

Amy Klobuchar would be a political 2020 version of 1992 Bill Clinton: Left of where Bill was then (but the Ds are) but willing to work with both sides to get the country's business done. That's my impression.

And that's why she's DOA politically right now.

Yes, cause Dems have to triangulate and Republicans just get whatever the **** they want.

Sometimes they have to but other times (like in Cuomo's case) they just use it as an excuse to do nothing about the status quo.

No, there's a large faction of the DNC who wants that. That's a major lane. Amy may not win it, but whoever does will be one of 2-3 serious contenders.

The lanes are: stay the course (Biden, Delaney), inspirational newbie (Beto, Booker, Castro), behead the Plutes (Bernie, Warren, Sherrod), and "moderation in all things" (Amy, Harris, Gillibrand).

Any irony in the “moderation in all things” housing 3 broads?

That's the way I see it also. Massive change doesn't happen. That radical Obama just about blew up the government by passing health care. He was right, but more extreme and a larger number of ideas won't get done.

Regardless administrations typically look different than what candidates run on (yeah Trump is still crazy...but many suspected he was a pocket liberal and he is a right wing nazi). And what matters is having the greatest odds of winning the white house and that runs through the midwest. Not sure if Amy's chances are tops of winning the midwest but whoever can win MI, PA and WI is the candidate (and that's probably based on moderation).

Reagan, W, and Trump have all ruled over massive change. Try again.
