Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers: Boogaloo

Probably the cleanest overall look at the 2020 race are the futurity markets. That's where the big brains put the big money. Here's the latest - some interesting scenarios are popping out including Paul Ryan, Michele Obama, and The Rock being far more likely than Klobuchar! Clinton barely makes the charts.

Donald Trump +150
Kamala Harris +1000
Beto ORourke +1000
Bernie Sanders +1200
Joe Biden +1400
Elizabeth Warren +2000
Mike Pence +2000
Cory Booker +2000
Kristen Gillibrand +3000
Oprah Winfrey +3000
Michele Obama +3300
The Rock +4000
Michael Avenatti +4000
Nikki Haley +5000
Andrew Cuomo +5000
John Kasich +5000
Mitch Landrieu +5000
Paul Ryan +5500
Juan Castro +6000
Amy Klobuchar +6000
Sherrod Brown +6000
Marco Rubio +6600
Mitt Romney +6600
Hillary Clinton +6600
Mark Zuckerberg +6600
Bill Gates +10000

Oh and the Dems are favored to win right now at -125 vs. -105.

For those of us who've never done much gambling, how do we read that list?

For those of us who've never done much gambling, how do we read that list?

If someone is +150, you bet $100 and if they win, you get your $100 back plus another $150.

If something is a minus, like the Dems being -125, you bet $125 that the Dems will win, and if they do, you get your $125 back plus $100.

For those of us who've never done much gambling, how do we read that list?

+ means you bet $100 to win that amount.
- means you bet that amount to win $100.

It's the same as the moneyline on a football game.

In a football game, the difference is the vig for the casino. (So a toss up is normally -110 or -115 for both teams. A game with a clear favorite may have the favorite at -220 and the underdog at +190, for instance)

Ugh, someone please find the skeletons in Bernie's closet before he runs again.

Oh let the old codger run. No harm in it and if he doesn't gain traction perhaps his supporters won't chalk it up to some vast left wing conspiracy from evil genius Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (I'm looking at you, Kepler ;)). Sanders problems remain the same. 1) He's old. 2) He's played too much grab-*** with the NRA over the years, and 3) he has little appeal to non-white voters, and he's most likely going to be facing some non-white competitors for the nomination. If Bernie can work through all that, then the nomination is all his. I'd support anybody from Joe Manchin to Lizzy Warren and everybody in between against President Chump and his Nazi pals.

Still repeating this incorrect talking point lol:

Sample of states Sanders lost the last time he ran for the nomination: NY, NJ, PA, VA, NC, SC, FL, GA, LA, TX, NM, AZ, NV, CA, TN, AL, AR. Some states he won: ME, NH, VT, OR, MT, WY, ID, KS, NE, ND, RI....are you maybe seeing a pattern here?

Can I get $100 on Pence and $100 on Klobuchar.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers: Boogaloo

For those of us who've never done much gambling, how do we read that list?

+N, underdog bet - bet $100 to make $N in profit.

-N, favorite bet - bet $N to make $100 in profit. (None of those on this board.)

Another 2016 Electoral Map (maybe this belongs in the religion thread?)

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers: Boogaloo

What’s the point of this exercise?

To exorcise the evil democratic bishops and priests?

at least someone is :p

@Amy_Siskind: I will not support white male candidates in the Dem primary. Unless you slept thru midterms, women were our most successful candidate. Biggest Dem vote getters in history: Obama ‘08, Hillary ‘16. White male is not where our party is at, and is our LEAST safe option in 2020.

God these people are morons.

You still support the party of Trump, so your opinion on this is meaningless.
