whyn't just put the mankato region into manchvegas and nip this pc "hosting, not hosting" in the bud already? umass and harvard can fill dunk' as well as anyone else.

this needs to end at some point, why not now?

Why does it have to end? I heard repeatedly that it was neutral ice when the Gophers played games at the X. PC playing games at the Dunk is also neutral ice.

A frozen four isn't a regional.
PC isn't hosting in Providence...they shouldn't be gifted home crowds because it's close...especially as a 4 seed.

The committee will have even more reason to place Providence in Providence even though they aren't deserving. It matches bracket integrity wise and UMass can't play them. Sucks for Minnesota State but this is still a lot different from playing at Schneider arena.

Maybe but you have a better chance of Ohio State fans in Allentown over Fargo.

I would agree with anyone who says that Providence College is lucky to be in the tournament and that if things had broken different in one or two games they might be sitting at home but being realistic anyone who's been to any one of the regionals knows that if there is no local team then you don't have a shot of getting decent attendance. Harvard played down the street in Providence in the NCAA recently and I could have invited all of the Crimson faithful who attended back to my hotel room and had plenty of room to sit down. If I was being totally honest there is a certain number of die-hard PC hockey fans that will go watch Providence play at the Dunkin Donuts Center and the rest will be basketball fans that have nothing else to do this time of year.

The field is set to be revealed on ESPNU at 7 ET. Unless ESPN leaks the bracket early...
