2019 Frozen Four

Re: 2019 Frozen Four

Pankowski's short handed goal came off a bad turnover and three Gophers displaying a complete lack of effort. There was no excuse for giving up that goal.

Re: 2019 Frozen Four

Minnesota is having a hard time controlling the puck.

That has been a problem for them quite a bit this year. You can see some difference in Wisconsin and Minnesota in that regard. Wisconsin is a better passing team. Being down 1-0 was tough enough but with it now 2-0? I don't see it happening.

Hard to maintain possession with bouncy passes. Players trying to do too much by themselves. Many not playing up to their capability. But credit Wisconsin for forcing most of the errors.

It's really hard right now to watch Schammel's line. They just don't have much going right now.

Congrats Badgers. Double donuts.

Last year it was 3 OTs. This year, 3 shutouts. Has it been done before?

The best team all season won. Congrats to Wisconsin!

I think Vetter did it, in 2006 (?)

EDIT: I take it back. Three NCAA shutouts in a row has never been done by a Badger goalie before. Campbell is the first.

Wisconsin had a couple years where it allowed a single goal in three games, but I don't think anyone has had three straight zeroes.

Re: 2019 Frozen Four

Congrats to the Badgers....unlike you all, this was the first game I’ve seen of both teams this year.....IMHO, Wisconsin had the confidence and better play today....Gophers only had a couple of sustained minutes in the Badgers zone.....D2D, I see all great teams resorting to your comment about the individual trying to do to much in tight situations...BC always forgets what got them to the big games when pressing.....I hope that everyone watched the CWHL Championship before this game.....if nothing else, watching women’s hockey on the NHL network is here to stay! They finally realize their potential as a viable option!

In between periods on the Wisconsin radio broadcast, they had an interview recorded yesterday with D player Maddie Rolfes (IIRC) and she told the interviewer that the whole team was strangely VERY calm all week. She said she even thought to herself "Am I doing this wrong? Am I properly preparing for these games? Shouldn't I be more nervous?" It was an odd, but good, thing to hear from a player.
