2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

Re: 2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

And Craighead's goal celebration was a thing of beauty.

I could hear the air being let out of Tech fans from Holland.

There's no way he didn't know who they'd be playing the next week. I understand the heat of the moment, but in retrospect do you really want to give them the bulletin board material? We'll find out if it was worth it.

Not completely sold out, as the Alumni Association has set aside a limited number of tickets for NMU Alumni to purchase.

Re: 2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

Hey Joe Shawhan: the ticket sales were handled much better this year. Online sales were available. Unsold tickets were made available mid week. NMU Alumni had tickets set aside this time even.

So your complaints pregame? Go get bent.

And still a ton of empty seats at a "sold out" game....

Heard from someone who saw the TV6 pre game he was interviewed and ranted about the allocation of tickets and how "there weren't any made available until Friday, which is too late for people to plan," and how Tech would never do such things.

No sh**, Joe Shawhan. NMU fans went through that for the Championship. The NMU Athletic department handled it right this year. And I am proud that despite it being Spring Break, there weren't any complaints I saw on how things were done. Judging by the radio feed, Tech fans had no problem getting tickets. What was your problem Joe?

Season ticket holder seats. Some may have been at basketball playoff, some at hockey playoffs, some were on vacation. You can’t sell a seat someone has already paid for. Students had until Wednesday to get their tickets, those that weren’t claimed were released for sale on Wednesday.

Re: 2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

AFAIK, NMU never announced it as "sold out." They did release several tickets on Wednesday, which is what the sign that went viral said was a possibility. If you didn't bother to check on availability on Wednesday, that's on you, not NMU.*******//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200307/d9ead2e2ce1b700738d874065b0ec787.jpg********

UMMM .. Don't remember seeing where I posted that "I" tried to get tickets or whether "I" would have had trouble getting tickets... just pointing out the empty seats in a rivalry game, in the playoffs and knowing that on FRIDAY morning they were calling NMU alumni with $9 tickets (would think most hockey fans would have had their tickets before then, but was probably a push to get non-hockey fans into empty seats). And you are correct and I was wrong, they never announced a shut out...my bad. I guess I was just assuming they would sell out when, like Joe pointed out and NMU said, they shut down sales of tickets until wednesday.
