2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

Re: 2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

There's no way he (Craighead) didn't know who they'd be playing the next week. I understand the heat of the moment, but in retrospect do you really want to give them the bulletin board material? We'll find out if it was worth it.

From the Mining Gazette:

Junior left wing Justin Misiak took the puck along the right wing half-wall and was cycling towards the corner when he stopped on a dime at the hash marks and passed over to Pietila, about 20 feet in from the boards, set up just inside the face-off dot. The pass came across and Pietila snapped a one-timer past Wildcats goalie Nolan Kent nearly five minutes into the game’s sixth period.

Huskies on the bench jumped the boards and mobbed Pietila before they all glided to center ice and all planted the flag. It was an ode to Northern Michigan senior right wing Darien Craighead’s gesture after he scored the winning goal in a Wildcats’ 3-2 victory Feb. 29 in the regular season finale.

But on Craighead’s birthday Saturday, all the Huskies planted the flag on the yellow Wildcat at center ice.

“No one was really happy about that. Everybody was pretty ticked off, so we got the boys together after we finished it tonight and slammed our sticks on the ice,” Huskies senior goaltender Matt Jurusik said. “We didn’t really like that. It was a sign of disrespect. But we got the last laugh.”

Re: 2019-20 NMU Hockey Season

Why do you complain because I post factual articles about NMU Hockey???? Would you rather I post "jaded rhetoric" like you do????

Since when does posting informative NMU Hockey articles on this site have no "context"??? Please enlighten me!!!!!

1. I attended, graduated from, boosted, donated to, and provided radio coverage for UAH, not NMU. It's how Dave Danis knows me.

2. You post facts and stories, not your thoughts on them. I've said this to you in the past. Perhaps I'm the fool for trying to say it again.

3. I started and still publish UAHHockey.com, which ... well, sometimes it aggregates links and posts context about them.

I started this thread to provide NMU Hockey fans with up to date info, articles, stats, facts, interviews, etc, etc, etc so they can stay informed on the team and the program.... I didn't start it to be insulted.... If you don't like what I post then go start your own thread as this one is about NMU Hockey and not personal vendettas....

But you get upset when we discuss what's going on. You think we're not allowed to have opinions about what we've seen and heard. If you don't want to be part of the discussion, fine, but don't get mad at us who are talking about things.
