Looking at visiting Marquette for the SCSU series in November. We'd probably get in on Thursday night. Tips on places to see/things to do? Where do I want to be staying for convenience to the arena and/or local bars?

Ramada, Hampton Inn & Landmark Inn are all downtown! Lagniappe Cajun/Creole, Stucko’s Pub, Vango’s & Kildare Irish Pub are all good eats. Black Rocks, Ore Dock & Vierling have great brews and Breakers, Flanigan’s & Third Base are great places for a cold beer! And thank you St. Cloud for the great food, drink and hospitality last year!

Donckers for breakfast upstairs and the best candy downstairs! Third Street Bagel for your afternoon coffee stop. Casa Calabria for Italian and eat the garlic bread!

Spend an hour or so driving through Presque Isle Park on Lake Superior, on the NE end of Marquette. It could take 15 minutes if you are in a hurry. The Hampton is the best right on the harbor (a bit spendy though) but the new Staybridge is very nice about 10 blocks from the water. Almost all hotels are 1-3 miles from the Berry Events Center. Although the locals sneer at my next suggestion, try the Villa Capri for excellent lasagna and Italian bread heavily dipped in butter (sorry health food nuts). The place looks the same from when I graduated in '74 and the food is still great. https://thevillacapri.com/ Great time to visit Marquette. While the leaves have all turned colors or dropping off inland, still green lakeside. Enjoy!

Speaking of which, planning a college visit for daughter this fall (HS senior this year), and looking at opening weekend vs MSU. When do individual game tickets go on sale? All I see are season packages now.

Former NMU defenseman Don Waddell discusses his many duties in his job as president and GM of the Carolina Hurricanes

In that article, he said something very profound: "Don’t be in a hurry to get someplace you’re not ready for because the climb can be high, but the fall can be steep. You might only get one shot at it. If you get an opportunity and you’re not prepared for it and it doesn’t last long, there’s a pretty good chance that you’re not going to get a second opportunity".
This is solid advice.

One would hope he already did. This is year 3 of his contract...

No need for question marks there.

Still waiting to see who steps up at goalie, but NMU hasn't lacked on goalies lately.

We were spoiled though with Atte.
