2018-19 NMU Hockey Season

Re: 2018-19 NMU Hockey Season

Just wanted to post the Marquette Mining Journal article where Potulny talked about each NMU player that attended a NHL camp this Summer.... Good to see that you're on top of things "aparch"....

Re: 2018-19 NMU Hockey Season

Coach Grant Potulny will by my guest Friday morning on 100.3 the Point. The two parts will air starting around 8:05 and 8:35 am. We’ll discuss what the coach has been up to for the sunmer, the roster depth, the schedule and the upcoming season!

Re: 2018-19 NMU Hockey Season

So I just received my Northern Magazine in the mail yesterday, and had to tweet the excitement I saw in it:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">YES! YES!! <a href="https://twitter.com/NMUHockey?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@NMUHockey</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/NorthernMichU?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@NorthernMichU</a> This is a much needed and welcomed addition to the Berry! Can't wait to make a trip home to see! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/ProudOfOurAlumni?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#ProudOfOurAlumni</a> <a href="https://t.co/QaJS9nDgUS">pic.twitter.com/QaJS9nDgUS</a></p>— Josh Pifke (@thejoshp) <a href="https://twitter.com/thejoshp/status/1011355958843502593?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 25, 2018</a></blockquote>
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

They're going to be celebrating the Alumni who played in the NHL inside the BEC. Something I've seen on a smaller scale in the locker room; but this is much welcomed, and in a more public setting. It's going to be great to see the photos of the (as of now) 21 alums who have played in the NHL (even Don Waddell's lone NHL game).

What a great thing to see the University finally do!

*edit* I do have a SLIGHT irk that jumped out at me from that article. The logos on Dallas Drake's banner. Yes, he played for the Winnipeg Jets, but he didn't play for *those* Winnipeg Jets. He was on the Jets/Coyotes franchise, not the Thrashers/Jets franchise. This is the logo that should be on it:

davyd83 posted a picture of those banners hanging in the Berry. I like them!

Re: 2018-19 NMU Hockey Season

i'm assuming him and Paskaruk were politely told they're not in the future plans of the Potulny era

Yeah I mean why would he want a high quality guy scoring a pt/gm (and 6th overall) as a defender playing for a state championship team?

Why would ‘who’ want a high quality guy? And none of the three players mentioned is a D.

My bad.

I was referring to Luedtke. I was curious why he's no longer committed.

Luedtke is a forward. As for why he may no longer be committed, he hasn’t said. But if a couple big time programs have entered the picture, that is likely why. The so called “gentleman’s agreement” is no longer worth the paper it’s written on. Recruit until the ink on the LOI is dry.

And even the LOI isn't worth much...

Wisconsin just had one of their top recruits, who had signed an LOI, ask to be released and immediately went to Minnesota. There were rumors that it was an admissions issue, but you never know what is really happening.
