2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

No favors done for the east side. Looking at Norwich hosting Oswego in a QF...that's a titanic matchup for sure should it happen. What does Prezdejohnson do? Paycheck or diploma?
$$$$$$$$$$$$ and thats a big big if

It happens when you have the 2nd and 3rd overall team in the west and you don't want to have them match up in quarterfinals. Pretty straightforward.

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

Norwich loses its' well deserved bye because the committee would not send Adrian to Oswego or Hobart...?

It was more about Point having to play Norbert in the quarterfinals. Those are the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams by them. They did give Salem State to Norwich, who didn't even receive a vote in the last D3 Poll. It is about as good as they can do for that.

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

Setting up a possible 2014/2016 title game rematch. I see a Krug et. al.-less Adrian team having a rough night at KB Willett.

Seems like some karma coming against Adrian here that they won't have their coach and players against the team that the incident happened against, not to mention they received more suspensions against Point during the regular season as well.

The Pointers will be extra motivated after their last game vs Adrian at the Willett....when the Adrian player ended the college career of the Pointer forward late in that game..

I hope UWSP comes out of this one without sustaining any more career ending injuries.

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

2 weeks off gives your team a nice time off to rest the injured, and all the teams have walking wounded, nice for the west..

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

The #1 team does not get a bye - that's the headline and all you need to know how ******ed up this "process" is....

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

always interesting when D3 hockey always states if you follow the process................apparently not this time.

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

hmmm....none of this makes sense haha. Norwich's fantastic season earning of the #1 rank and a bye also have a pretty tough road to the frozen four. Will need to beat the best teams anyways but this makes zero sense in my opinion. NCAA loves plot twists

Re: 2017 NCAA tournament selection thread

I'm sorry but how is it fair that all the western teams get byes? Garbage. Norwich gets motherblanked here
