2017 Frozen Four Ticket Purchase

Re: 2017 Frozen Four Ticket Purchase

This seating chart from Seat Geek is interactive so click on a section for a view! https://goo.gl/VOm6Mx

I am a priority 18. Wondering if you have to click again for paper tickets?

Re: 2017 Frozen Four Ticket Purchase

Is it possible to get to the UC from downtown by train/subway?

Kinda. The CTA Blue Line runs about 1/2 a mile south of the United Center. You'd use the Illinois Medical District station. The station is off of Damen Ave. which is the street on the West side of the UC. It's doable, but you'd want to keep your head about you when going back after the games. Usually it's recommended to use busses from Downtown instead of the "L". There are no METRA options in the area.

I'm staying in Oak Brooke/Lombard and will be driving, I-290 to exit 28A (Damen) and parking at one of the lots off Damen near the arena - back down Damen to I-290 - back to the hotel. Will this be as simple as it looks on the area map I'm looking at?

Thursday games will likely have traffic on the way in. That can suck if the stars align. Saturday should be ok, just don't try and arrive 3 minutes before puck drop... You may have some issue getting out of the parking lot as they can take some time to clear. Give yourself some time there.

Also, expect $25 (Non-UC owned) or $30("Official") parking.

I always get to the arena well before the gates open, so some traffic should be no problem. My concern was the area/parking lots at Damen near the United Center and the safety issue. I'm sure it's fine at any big event, but my wife is a bit concerned about the crime in Chicago. We live near Toronto and have our share of crime here, but nothing like what we see happening in Chicago.

Honestly, just use "Big City" Common Sense and you'll be fine around Chicago.

Yes, the UC is located on Chicago's "West Side", but you're a decent distance from any "trouble" areas. The immediate area around the UC will be fine with the event going on. Traveling around, just stay on Damen till you get to your expressway (290 or 55). If you want to get food/drinks, just head East from the UC.

I know the Chi-raq idea is going to put some people off about this Frozen Four. The trouble areas are places that travelers in town for hockey really need to eff their directions up to get into a hot spot. Again, Common Sense goes a long way.

Ok, thanks for the info!

priority 19 checking in

Just bought two seats in club area section 204 which is in corner
4th row on aisle was best available
There are limited seats in corners in club area
Not as good as Tampa but club worked out well there

The club level at the UC is very nice and THE level you want to be on, IMO.

Carpeted concourse, only Club Level ticket holders are allowed so it's not super crowded and nice bars that you can usually just walk up to.

Oh yeah, and I always enjoy the view from my seats and have been in 204.

If I were going, I'd choose that level.

Addressing other concerns from this thread...

Parking at the UC has never been a problem for me and I usually use the outer lots a slight bit further from the venue. Never had an issue as the neighborhood right around the UC is not (typically) where the violence or crime is in Chicago - it's west of there.

When heading back to whatever hotel, don't go west and everyone should be fine.

Priority 19
Club Level
Section 213
Row 1

Finally got our act together Sunday evening, in time to beat the opening of Priority 18 Window.

Lots of good seats available in the Club Level, in the Corners and Ends. As a matter of taste, we prefer the corners over the seats directly behind the net.

Tip for those interested in Row 1 Club Level Seats: As of last night, Row 1 was available in Sections 206, 207, 212 & 227. Those sections had Row 1 space for larger groups. If you only need a pair of seats, additional sections are available.

Again as a matter of taste, we have a slight preference for facing the Players' Benches, as opposed to the Penalty Boxes. If you share our criteria, Section 212 might work well for you.

More commentary soon.

Thanks for the details! Remain curious about the printed tickets and whether you still have to opt for printed tickets? I also assume that the game times are not included as of yet for Thursday? From what I understand we won't have as many options close to the arena as Tampa. Though we tailgated in Tampa between games and won't have the same option this year! Unless someone wants to organize one massive tailgate party!!! Look forward to purchasing tickets on Wednesday as part of priority 17!

You have the choice of printed tickets ( $10 ) or the flash tickets ( Free ). The default is flash tickets. You can change that option in the upper right corner of the screen after to pick your seats.

Re: 2017 Frozen Four Ticket Purchase

Priority 18, just bought mine. Looking for four seats in the lower level, they had 117, and 118 and the corresponding sections at the other end of the ice. I backed out of my first selection, and had to log on and enter the site again. Took four seats at row 11 behind the goal. $10 extra to get the tickets mailed, rather than flash tickets. The whole thing is expensive, but that's life, and the NCAA.

Re: 2017 Frozen Four Ticket Purchase

Just got 212 row 1 seats 1/2 the middle of the building is gone for decent seats but there seems to be some good ones at the ends.....pick paper at the end in upper right corner of form $10 extra for the entire order....mailing in March

Let's say you are buying four tickets for four different people. How does the flash thing work? Do you provide four different emails, so they can receive the virtual ticket to put on their smartphone?

HI,

I don't know how the flash tickets work. I have always picked the mail option.

Re: 2017 Frozen Four Ticket Purchase

Priority 18. Logged in at precisely 10am, entered email and password then . . . nothing. Refreshed several times before calling the customer service line. On hold for 20 minutes before I got a nice young lady on the line. I started to ask questions about the website and, instead of leading me down a rabbit hole, she offered to take my order over the phone! The old fashioned way, how about that?!? I wound up with eight seats together in first row club behind the net. Once I started the conversation the process took five minutes.

I did opt for paper tickets because we have 8 in our group this year instead of 5. We did flash Seats last year. Tickets are downloaded to your phone which means everyone has to be there at the gate together before the first game. But you can transfer individual tickets to another phone at that time. Pretty painless.

You're very welcome; best luck on Wednesday!

Game Times: The on-screen invoice seemed to indicate that the Semis would start at 5:00 PM on 4/6, with the Championship Game at 7:00 PM on 4/8. Remember that Chicago is on Central Time.

Don't know if those times are set, merely a current estimate, or if I'm over-interpreting the invoice.

Thanks for the info!!! Made it easy to jump right to section 212.
Glad to be of service.

You've put up lots of good information on this thread. One good turn deserves another. Which, of course, is a long standing tradition on the ticket threads.

This is very easy to miss, and can't be emphasized enough.

Yup, the win rate with Customer Service has been quite good over the years. 800-208-0048.

Our group travels to the FF from multiple states. Sometimes that means meeting at the seats. Forcing everyone to gather at the gate at the beginning of the tournament is potentially a major nuisance. At least paper tickets are still an option.

Some people find Tech stuff very intuitive. Others, not so much. Again, at least paper tickets are still an option.

I did notice when I got my tickets the NCAA has blanked out all the seats from Blue Line to Blue Line from the ice to the roof.....they do not exist for us to buy.....funny I can remember when they really needed fan support and all the tickets were available except for a few saved for the 4 schools and their fans, in Anaheim my tickets were right next to the goal judge and in Cincy we were on the glass in the corner all at the same price....memories !!!!
