2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

Huge upset as Lindenwood beats Mercyhurst, 3-2.

It was (obviously) early in the season for all involved, but both teams played against Wisconsin in Madison this year (though I only saw one game of each series). I'm not a bit surprised that Lindenwood played them well, and managed to beat Mercyhurst.

I saw all 4 games in Madison and Mercyhurst looked way better then Lindewood, that's why I was voting them into the top 10. That is a big upset.

LOL. We posted pretty much the opposite of one another at pretty much the same time. I thought Lindenwood looked better than their past years' reputation would imply, and that Mercyhurst looked worse than their past years' rep. Sorry, but I'm not surprised by today.

I was just comparing this year and not referencing years past. I think Lindenwood's goalie is better for sure, if the same one played today that played against UW.

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

I agree with robertearle as far as Lindenwood over Mercyhurst goes. The Lions bounced the Lakers from the CHA Tournament in March. Is Mercyhurst better? Probably, but we think of these teams based on how we've come to regard them over the years, and I doubt that the gap is very large these days. Lindenwood likely has better goaltending, and that can even out a number of other deficiencies.

You guys got outshot by Bemidji?

It's kind of a new season. We're concentrating first on trying to improve, then trying to win the game. Actually the forward play looked better to me last weekend than today.

But I'm happy we got our first WCHA win!!

Nice work by Harvard to steamroll the scum of Canada in an exhibition, 6-1. Looks like the Crimson are good for something after all!

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

UW up 1-0 after 1. Shots 9-7 in that period, the worst period I just about seen out of a MJ coached team. Kato was outshooting them until the end of the period. Wake up already.

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

wtf is going on in Kato? Badgers down 2-1 late in the 2nd with MSU very close in shots...

UW is getting outplayed/playing badly. They had a few spurts of pressure, and it's a lot of up and down hockey, not a lot of O zone pressure by either team.

Re: 2017-2018 D1 Women's Hockey Scores

Holy crap huge save by Soup in 5 seconds to go to preserve the 3-2 win for UW. What an escape job by UW. Kato made too many mistakes in the 3rd and UW buried the puck.

Yeah I watched the third and saw pretty much what you did.

Crazy stuff...

Sloppy game for sure, neither team could put together a sustained offensive threat. Strong play by both goalies. Mankato is a much improved team and was able to score on a team that shut them down last season.

Maine 3, Robert Morris 0 - after two.
