2016 Quinnipiac Bobcats Offseason Thread

Re: 2016 Quinnipiac Bobcats Offseason Thread

Looks like we are pretty stacked at D this year. Any predictions for the early season forward lines/have additional insight as to who has experience at center? Just to start the conversation, ill go with:

L. Smith - MacMaster - Aldworth

Martin - T. Clifton - Davidson

Jermain - Tiefenworth - Duane

Pieper - Taverner - Schutt

The D should be a strength that will cover up for the goaltender unless we are surprised by the goalie play. I think the 12 you listed there are likely the 12 to see alot of ice time. Logan Mick might be that 13th forward.

Our strength this season will be the D. I think we'll be good offensively but probably not score as many goals as last season. Defense will keep us in close games. The only real question mark to start the season is goal. If Truehl is as good as we've heard, we should be fine.

I'm getting impatient here... hockey needs to start soon! ;)

What does everyone think of the new branding for the school? I'm kind of on the fence with the new lettering but I was looking in the Bobcat shop and the new swag is pretty sweet.

Looks like tickets went on sale an hour early!

I just grabbed Northeastern 10.8, Harvard and YALE!

I don't hate it, but I find it strange all the logos on the boards (as tweeted by the school), are the University branding instead of the athletics branding.

It was always the university branding even with the old logo.

Rand was pretty surprised at being 1st in both. Frankly I was a little surprised as well. Thought they would be in the top 4 but not #1. Means nothing obviously. One thing I was surprised at is no media member asked Rand how he was going to replace a 3 year starter in goal. Every other team was addressing the goalie situation and not one asked Rand about it.

Maybe they figure if they honor us in the pre-season, it will make up for not giving out the awards at the end of the year to our players /s

This was the only reason I watched it. I really wanted to hear what he had to say about the goalie situation.

Since we are on the topic of goalies, I think it will be nice to see Keith Petruzzelli play on Thursday in the All-Prospects game, I didn't realize he is 6'6".

Yes he is tall and talented. One of our better future commitments.

Re: 2016 Quinnipiac Bobcats Offseason Thread

Wasn't there a Bobcat head behind one of the goals? The majority of the boards was University branding, but not the entire thing, as I recall.
Yes, there were the Bobcat "eyes" behind each goal. Legend has it Bud Fisher used to lose the puck in the dark background on occasion.

As for the new branding,

Quinnipiac
university

looks terrible in my opinion. University needs to be capitalized. After that I really don't care.

The lower case 'u' is what caught me by surprise. The lettering looks like some one opened up a Word Doc and just wrote 'Quinnipiac university' in every font on there and just picked one like I used to do for my 6th Grade poster board projects.

Re: 2016 Quinnipiac Bobcats Offseason Thread

On a fun and different note, since Coach Pecknold (born in Red Sox Nation!) tossed the 1st pitch at the Yankee game on 9/12, the Yankees are 3-6 and Red Sox Nation is 8-2. If Coach "p" is not in the Frozen Four in Chicago next April 2017, I would suggest he throws out the 1st pitch for the Evil Empire to start the 2017 season.

Why do you have to do that to me, Fred? Let my team die in peace! #WaitUntilNextYear
