2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Michael Andretti is funny @ Racer.com, lamenting all this money he spent on his shock program, but yet his shocks suck. I would gather a contract has been burnt or some engineers have applied for unemployment.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Apparently Mr. Dixon also cut the blend line at the pit exit, how ironic! It just needs a new design and all of this crap will go away.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

The car should have been going faster.

Great race @ Barber. A good amount of passing and some differing tyre strategies. Rahal almost boneheaded Simon there. I think a penalty was deserved on Rahal. It was funny PT thought that was a legit move by Rahal, but TB thought it was a bad move, no surprise there considering Tracy is the chairman of the Optimist club. Also nice to see the Honda wa wa's have some solid results. Maybe it's not so much Honda is the issue, but that Andretti is lead dog for them and right now they are pretty much boat anchors out there.

I sure hope this just isn't groundhog day for Penske where they are dominant early in the season then pee on themselves as the season closes out.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Jesus, everything has been coming up aces for Pagenaud. Rahal really drove a hell of a race considering he was damaged for no particular reason all race long and then held on to 2nd with a severely damaged car through the last few laps. He was set up well with 8 PPs in the bank going into the final 10 or so laps.

Sebastian Bourdais annoys the heck out of me.

Pagenaud's girlfriend caught in the pits after he crossed the finish line talking about how no one can call this victory "cheating"... still a lot of bitterness going on there.

We need Sage Karam back in a car!

Women hold grudges way longer then men, correct? In the end Simon was not the only driver who messed up the pit exit there, and they all were treated the same as in no penalty, so it's ok, though for the record Dixon was one of the others. I expected Simon to have this kind of season last year, but he just couldn't get the car to work ti his liking.

Just booked my ticket to the US Grand Prix in Austin. Sitting in the Turn 12 grandstand on the Turn 15 side.

That is awesome. I just can't make it come out right economically for me to attend seeing as I live in WI. My eldest son and I did the math last fall.

Yeah, I'm lucky because I have a work conference that following week. So flight and car are free.

It's still going to run around $490 for tickets and parking. :-/

F1 pricing is nuts.

Totally. I so want to go to Road America Saturday with full access pit passes, but we're getting home from a trip around 2 that day and no one wants to leave late Friday but me. I am still considering going Sunday, but Saturday (used to be anyway) more fun in the pits with support races etc.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Boaton Globe and other media are reporting the Boston Indy Car race is dead.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Honestly I'm not that surprised. As someone that has kept a VERY close eye on this I can say it was obvious the organizers had no idea what they were doing. They missed deadlines like it was going out of style. The city could have helped them along but it quickly turned into a mess.

At the end of the day this could have been a great thing. A lot of people in the racing community I talked to at Pocono last year were pumped about this. It would have been a unique course in a new market that would have exposed a lot of people to their sport. A lot of people dropped a lot of money on hotels that were non-refundable after tickets went on sale believing this was a done deal. They have a right to be ticked off.

This confirms what everyone outside of Boston already knows. Boston is a 2nd rate city full of fake intellectuals and will never be world-class. We can't have nice things here.

This was the obvious outcome the day the race was announced. I never knew why they bothered wasting their time in the first place...

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Pippa confirmed for Dale Coyne Racing in the Indy500. Many people may brush off her entry but it's important to have a role model for girls and she is about as high-character as it gets. She's already raised $10K for Susan G Komen Foundation in 1 day and I'm surely going to be helping that out with some donations later today.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

As someone that lives about a half mile from the race area I say Good Riddance.

I'm curious why besides the obvious that your world would be interrupted for a few days. You couldn't take one for the team?

The Russian race was a snoozer except for the Commie Kid wiping out Vettel like Dale E used to wipe out just about anyone and everyone. So frustrating as a Ferrari fan.

It will be interesting watching how the Commie Kid and Marco Andretti III do with their rides getting switched.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

Luca Filipi out, Gabby Chavez in for Dale Coyne Racing.

I like Chavez a lot; humble, hard-working, really nice guy. I believe he said that if he could get into Indy his sponsorship package would go through the end of the season so we'll how this works out.

May is going to be a spectacular month. Really hoping these domed skids don't take too much attention away from the actual event. Big stories going into this will be Hinchcliffe's return to the Indy 500 and Stef Wilson's entry in honor of his brother.

Re: 2016 Open Wheel Racing- this Haas to be a great Roissing year.

I was down in Austin and the word on the street there is that this is the last year for the USGP at that venue.... sigh.
