2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season: Non-Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

Re: 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season: Non-Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

I'll take bad weather for $100, Alex.

Something may strike the southeast coast http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/.

Invest 93L below the Yucatan. Unlikely to become much more than a TS, should make the turn and head to Florida (Tampa to panhandle it appears).

Somehow, I find myself caring a whole lot more this week than last....

<-----Note updated location

(looks like I'm in the 'expect 2" of rain on Monday' band - breaking me in gently)

Eh, I'll keep my eye on it, and plan to be lazy around the house Monday. Doubt you have too much to worry about, being on the other coast. I know we can use some rain over this way, Accuweather is saying 3-4 inches Sunday-Tuesday it appears, though I won't be surprised to see that go up, depending where this thing ends up tracking.

Local meteorologist seems to think we'll be in the SE quadrant, potentially making things a bit worse.

<---- 30 minutes SE of downtown Tampa.

Another "tropical storm" that looks like junk. It doesn't have any "outer bands", just a big blob east of the center.

Re: 2016 Atlantic Hurricane Season: Non-Minnesotans arguing about the weather...

So, the greater Tampa/St. Pete/Bradenton area got 6-10" of rain out of this thing. Some coastal flooding, due to astronomical high tides in addition to surge. But on the whole, pretty mundane system.

There is a video online of some manatees that were snacking on a yard along a canal over on the coast. Surge allowed them to access it over the seawall protecting the yard. Pretty awesome to see.

It has been so humid here the past few days, that when I am driving my car at dawn, I have to run the windshield wiper on intermittent while I am driving because of the continuing condensation.

I love that we have actual meteorologists on this site! :)

I'll bet we have enough specializations to actually build a company staffed solely by USCHOers. We have business people, engineers, sales, marketing, and even Harvard grads for janitorial.
