UML up 2-1 after 2. The team needs to pick it. After dominating for much of the game they looked sloppy and tired in the last half of the 2nd period. They're missing on easy passes and clears which is giving UNH some great scoring chances.

C.J. Smith gets his 100th point on Lowell's second goal.

A nice win by the Hawks. It wasn't pretty at times but they got it done. Great job.

Re: 2016/2016 Lowell Thread: Hoping for Chicago

What the hell time did they start this one? By the time I remembered about the game it was mid way through the third

Re: 2016/2016 Lowell Thread: Hoping for Chicago

Fourth game in 8 days, compared to UNH's second in that time frame. I was very worried that if we didn't put the game away early, it would be a scary ending due to tired legs (especially on an Olympic sheet). Really glad to get the win and get out of there with the two points though.

Congrats to CJ for reaching 100!

Definitely my thoughts exactly. They looked good in the first, not so much in the second. Third was a bit better but first period was definitely their strongest.

CJ took a hard slash across the wrist on UML's only power play of the night late in the third and immediately dropped his glove and stick, clutching the wrist as he went back to the bench. No call even though ref was right in front of it. He was back out on a shift later on but hopefully suffered no ill effects from the slash.

Also all 4 games were on the road. A tough stretch for any team and they handled it very well. Now they
get to rest some with only 1 game next week.

He had some choice words for either the ref or whoever slashed him on the way to the bench. It got picked up on tv. TC and Jaffey were commenting on it.

Jaffey called it a slash right away and was surprised the refs missed it. I believe Chanter was the UNH player that slashed him.

Vermont won 4-3.

They have a tough schedule left though. 2 @ PC next weekend, H/H UConn, 2 @ Notre Dame, 2 home vs UNH, at BC twice and finish a bit easier with Merrimack at home. 5 home, 7 away.

We have 6 home and away. But we haven't played BU, PC, BC or NU yet. We do have 3 left against UMass though, including next weekend's non conference matchup.
