2015 USCHO Cycling Thread

Re: 2015 USCHO Cycling Thread

Who's got the coverage for the Colorado classic? The only thing coming up on my dvr, which is set to tape all cycling events, is stage 7 which is on NBC. They aren't showing this on NBC Universal are they? I assume Universal still has the Vuelta.

As an update on everyone's favorite cyclist ;) I was watching diners drive ins and dives the other day and who do they have as a celebrity recommending a restaurant but Levi Leipheimer. He hasn't faded totally into oblivion unless it was filmed several years ago but it was supposed to be a new episode.
If I'm not mistaken he leads a Gran Fondo out in California in may as well.

Re: 2015 USCHO Cycling Thread

Gunning to be first ever to pull off Tour-Vuelta double, so I just read.

It's been done twice, 17 times riders have won 2 tours in the same year, though only 10 riders, mostly ones you would expect, Anquetil, Hinault, Indurain, Mercx, Coppi and Anquetil along with the recent one's Contador and Pantani. The unusual ones are Stephen Roche in 87 and Giovanni Battaglin in 81. The Vuelta Tour double is the rarest of the 3, the Tour/Giro double is 12 of the 17, Anquetil did it in 63, Hinault in 78. The Vuelta used to be held earlier in April which may have affected it, I Mercx only raced it once in his career.

I'm not surprised that what I read was wrong. I was skeptical of it at the time.

Been off the grid for the majority of the past week but in transfer news did see that Dan Martin is headed to Etixx-QuickStep.

Wow, those Sky riders are super impressive! You mean people like Anquetil and Hinault haven't managed to pull that off? #marginalgainsequallargegains

I guess my subtly was misplaced. This post was meant as a shot at Sky.

Also it looks like yes Universal has the Colorado and I think Vuelta.

Yeah not very happy I had Universal up till a couple of years ago when my cable company dumped it, they replaced it with Bein which makes it pretty much a wash for cycling coverage. I believe Universal is also covering much of the Worlds except for the men's road race which is on NBC

USA Pro Challenge uses the same tourtracker as Utah: http://tourtracker.usaprocyclingchallenge.com/ Its generally excellent. But of course it doesn't to my knowledge DVR.

I'm assuming the only show live coverage? If I could play the replay thru my firestick I would try it but I prefer to watch my cycling after work while doing the 80-90 minutes on my stationary bike not on the computer.

Honestly, not sure. You might be able to rewind it, but I just don't know.
EDIT: I just went to it, so 5 hours after its over, and at the top was a button for replay. I clicked it and it showed the entire stage. Not sure about getting it onto the firestick though, thats above my level of tech.

Re: 2015 USCHO Cycling Thread

Much like many GC riders coming off big stage race win, I'm only in this for the stage wins. That and I have no idea how this race will go down.

Vincenzo Nibali
Alejandro Valverde
Joaquim Rodriguez
Domenico Pozzovivo
Nacer Bouhanni
Natnael Berhane
Amets Txurruka
Joe Dombrowski
Peter Sagan

Thought about going for Piti and Quintana again (like I had in Le Tour, but just couldn't do it.)

Just picked my team and then came here see if anyone had created a league yet. I picked the exact same team as you aside from Berhane. Sheesh.

HA! Great minds and all. Who did you have?

Also TTT is neutralized. *checks, yup, Cance is scheduled to ride* Will be ridden only for stage and team time, not for individual time.

Re: 2015 USCHO Cycling Thread

I'm really surprised that Nibali had to do that, I figured Froome would have immediately slowed down the peloton since "he wouldn't dream of taking advantage like that" It was pretty blatant, in front of plenty of witness and helicopter footage, Aru finished 37 seconds back and didn't appear to be penalized.

...and Nibali has been thrown out the race as a result. I have to say the video was most amusing. Looked like something out of Mario Kart.

Re: 2015 USCHO Cycling Thread

Looked like Cance riding away from Boonen in Flanders, only this time with a car blocking the view.

Re: 2015 USCHO Cycling Thread
