I actually think UMD has a better chance of beating WI than BSU would have
BSU would depend upon WI to make a mistake on D more than UMD, which likely isn't going to happen
UMD is more likely to create a scoring opportunity on their own than BSU

if UMD can play a game like game #1 against Harvard, WI is going down
also I'm thinking Black will be in goal, she should be highly motivated a play a great game

I'm not that surprised by the upset, BSU upset their season last year, that's good motivation to return the favor
also, coming into this season UMD had a young blueline, but one with good potential
they have a full season behind them now

BSU would have been matched against Minnesota if it had won, while UND would have played UW. While I agree with the rest of your analysis, UMD's lack of depth up front is a problem versus UW. Harvard had the edge after UMD's top line, and UW > Harv.

no it didn't, the only time Harvard had the edge was when 2 UMD players were in the penalty box

Now the question is will the 'Dogs be able to perform the role of the spoiler as so many thought BSU might be able to do?

Appears as though this has been answered with a resounding "No".

Also appears as though the Possum Play needs more work.

Well, sweeping BSU in the WCHA playoffs was a great way to almost end the season.

More offensive talent and an elite goaltender is what this team needs...and also having every player on the team who can shoot with authority.
