Not sure the basis for Freddie's FARTS (arbitrary) ranking, but if one were to use the PWR, today we would have the following, which no doubt will change some after the multitude of OOC games during the holiday tournaments. I also added four teams "on the outside, looking to get in," based on the PWR. For brackets, the only intra-conference match up would be #2 seed AIC vs #15 seed Canisius, easily fixed by sending the #3 Badgers somewhere back east to play Canisius in the first round. However, still early in the season for the PWR to mean a whole lot, so just a lot of speculation at this point.

Snives - that puts us dangerously close to being on the outside, looking in. Not happy about this. I think we are exceedingly bottom-feeder worthy. This version of the rankings concerns me.

PWR is wildly overrating (underrating??) us!!!

Freddie: I borrowed these figures from some other postings on USCHO but I just checked some and they look accurate. I would like to make the case that RPI should be high up in your ranking. Your ranking should include "trending" and RPI has lost 8 straight. Here are the facts.

RPI is 58 out of 59th (1.55) in Team Offense (NCAA DI) but if you take out the first Union Game and the six goals they scored, they would be dead last in all of College Hockey. In their last 8 games they are 1.38 AGF and 4.38 AGA. They have been shut out 6 times and got swept at home by Bentley. Worse of all, their 10 non-conference loses represent nearly 25% of the ECAC out of conference losses thus far and has destroyed the leagues chances of sending more that 2-3 to the NCAA's. It's possible that this year could end being one of the worse in the programs history !!! They are on an 8-game losing streak !!!! They are 6-15-1 which is .295. Brown wiped the floor with them and Princeton will this weekend. They get worse each week. Come-on, what do you say? Can you make room for them? The coach is so desperate he even suspended all the Captains for masquerading as hockey players. You really have got to make room for them. :)

What is the formula that determines FARTS? The committee has recently stated a slide rule is not involved... perhaps an abacus is used? Or the position of stars in constellations? Eenie meenie miney mo?

The committee has never disclosed the precise formula for determining FARTS, altho there has long been speculation that it involves a weighted average of PWR, KRACH and the hat sizes of all D1 goalies who were born outside the USA and have more than two vowels in their last names. For many years a spider monkey named Bimbo made the final calculations by flinging his own feces at a specially designed dart board, but Bimbo retired in 2010 and was replaced by a Ouija board.

Also, I don't know if it's too early to start putting in bids for coverage, but WGVU-TV 35 out of Allendale, MI is making a bid for coverage this year. They still haven't perfected the manure/landfill Smell-O-Vision, but they're promising to put the Futile 4 in the 3 AM Tuesday morning slot.

The committee actually considers their NCAA post-season suspension as a point in their favor.
