2015-2016 Schedules

Re: 2015-2016 Schedules

Per Twitter, the WCHA announced that they'll be releasing a composite schedule on Monday (May 4) at 11 a.m. CT. That may have a few non-conference tilts listed as well, but that would be a nice surprise rather than an expectation.

Re: 2015-2016 Schedules

From what I understand, BC's OOC will be:

2 vs. Duluth
2 @ Cornell
2 vs. St. Lawrence
1 @ Syracuse
1 @ Harvard (regular season)
1 vs. Harvard (Beanpot semis, should be at Walter Brown)
1 Beanpot Finals (Hearing this is likely to be at the TD Garden)

We lost three OOC games thanks to the addition of Merrimack... smh

With 24 conference games, couldn't BC and the other HEA teams still have two more OOC games (10 in all)?

Sorry, 2 @ Cornell -- fixed.

So we swapped out:
Yale
QU
Princeton
Dartmouth
[Empty date]

For:
UMD
UMD
Mack
Mack
Mack

Given that we have no choice but to play Mack, and that we had an open date last year, I'm actually pretty thrilled with how the schedule turned out. Can't really do all that much better than that (I think Cuse is permanently on the schedule because ACC).

So, Stone x 2 and Crowell x 2. Hope you're shakin' in yer boots! :)

Re: 2015-2016 Schedules

Are the Gophers going to add a couple non-conference games Jan 2-3?

I would assume so. They may already be talking to teams looking for open dates. It seems to me this announcement is early, that in the past a 'tentative' schedule was produced but not shared and then coaches filled in any blank spots with the official release in a month or so. But that might just be my memory.

Re: 2015-2016 Schedules

Penn State, Yale, Providence, Lindenwood, Dartmouth...

There are not enough :roll eyes: emojis in this world for me to properly :roll my eyes: at this.

Minus Providence, it looks like a schedule that would meet the dietary requirements of a certain Hockey East club...;)

Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood

6 WCHA teams are playing Lindenwood.

Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood, Lindenwood

That sort of thing worked for BC this year, maybe MSU would like a chance at the great 8 in the NCAA too.

I'll give UM PSU because of the B16 thing but really, whats wrong with adding some of the top 10 contenders? Is it just schedules not matching up? Teams dodging tough schedules? If so, which teams? I know UM scheduled BU last year & they are not generally a bad team. WHat gives?

Funny thing is Lindenwood is the one I can at least kind of get; an out of conference team throwing a bone to the up-and-coming program that's not COMPLETELY across the country.

BC has never played Lindenwood as far as I'm aware. Also our out of conference schedule was pretty solid last year. Not great but solid.

Ditto on the B16 thing. But like you're saying it's *every* OOC game this year for UW/UM. That's the problem.
Teams dodging tough schedules?
I've said it before.

Yale is a return trip from two years ago. If you're going to go all the way to Penn State, you may as well play two games. After that, the Whitecaps can give the Gophers a tougher game than most teams, and if they can't, what is lost? Wisconsin figures to be better than anybody Minnesota could schedule out of conference, so it isn't likely it will run into somebody in the postseason that is head-and-shoulders stronger than what the Gophers have already seen. Much as I'd like to see some cupcake-eating team show up at Ridder every other year, it likely isn't in Minnesota's best interest to wedge a contending team into the schedule on some weekend when Leveille or Potomak is going to be gone. So it may be a problem, just likely not a problem for the Gophers.

Aside from which, given the budget that Lindenwood has, I suspect that non-conference trips to the east coast are not happening, which means that the WCHA is pretty much expected to fill out their schedule.
