Sorry, but I'm sure that nearly all of these girls were on their respective team's radar prior to the creation of the NEWJHL. The league can't take credit for these. Call me next year for D3 and in two years for D1 and then the league has a story.

With only 5 graduating seniors (1 G, 2 D and 2 F) and 4 new forwards at this point, the math is not good for some current roster forwards unless they can play defence!

Lots of Tier 2 players getting a chance to play D3 hockey next season. I would have thought those teams would want to add less Tier 2 talent and more Tier 1 talent instead.

They are absolutely the best team, no question congrats on the win. My point was there are girls that will see very little ice during the year. 12 fwd - 2 graduating + 4 newbies = 14, so 4 lines and 2 extras!! If your daughter is a 4th liner or one of the 2 extras, they have to be prepared that the ice they might be accustomed to is about to change. With the lack of injuries and suspensions in the woman's game, 14 fwd is a lot and as a freshman or sophomore if you rarely play, is it the same experience as a regular shift?? I guess to each her own.

Not sure where you've been watching girls hockey lately, but most college girls teams I have seen play the last few years have 2 or 3 players injured/ill each game (not the same usually but on average). Usually concussions or illness. Sometimes more serious - shoulders, knees, broken bones, etc. And occasionally a disciplinary or academic suspension. As a worst case, Conn College had something like 5 or 6 kids injured simultaneously at one point before the holiday break this season.....my guess is that the 12 forwards each game that will be dressing will be the healthy ones....and given their usual margin of victory in their league games that most of the time the 4th line will get playing time. And who knows if all the returners will even come back next season....
