2015-16 New England Patriots

Re: 2015-16 New England Patriots

Best thing for me was that Gostkowski looked solid. The XPs and FGs were all down the middle and would have been good from at least 10 yards further out.

Re: 2015-16 New England Patriots

Solid wins over Baltimore and Denver. Like how this team can grind it out.

Can someone explain how they clinch #1 seed with a win next week? If they lost after that to Miami, and Oakland won out, wouldn't they have the same divisional record and conference record (and no losses vs common opponents - Denver in this case). What's the next tiebreaker after that and does it favor the Pats?

They'll clinch by beating the Jests and Oakland loses to Indy. Patriots will have 2 losses with one game left Oakland will have 4(Chiefs already have 4). If both teams finish with the same record it'll go to the 4th tie breaker, strength of victory which I believe Oak will win out because they've played the tougher schedule.

Looking at it again if they were both tied at the end of the season I believe it would come down to the common opponent. The last game of the season for Oak is in Den.

Not only is there last game against Denver, its at Denver. Thats a big deal if Denver doesn't roll over as their season is done

Any gamblers out there?

According to and article in the Globe this morning, the Pats are 11 - 3 against the spread. I'm guessing that two of failures to cover were the losses, but I'm trying to figure out the third. The closest wins were Arizona (actual margin 2) and the Jets (actual margin 5). The Arizona game was a road game, and Arizona was thought to be a pretty decent team then. So I'd guess the Jets. Anyone know?

One was definitely the Week 3 Buffalo game at home.

Re: 2015-16 New England Patriots

it was the jets win. gave 9.5 and as noted only won by 5.

(the other 2 were the losses)

Re: 2015-16 New England Patriots

For the 3rd year in a row the Patriots have to travel to Denver for a game next year.

You soy Colts fan, for a coupla hours today anyway. Don't know too much about Oakland. Other than Khalil Mack their D doesn't give pause. 25th against the run and pass, 28th yardage allowed. Hoping Indy can make some noise and knock them off while the Patriots beat the Jests giving NE the top seed.

Odd how that works out. Seems like the Indianapolis Peytons had to come to Foxboro several years in a row.

Re: 2015-16 New England Patriots

That's about as good a first half as you can hope for, capped off by a perfect touch pass from Brady that must have traveled 40 yards. D playing fine without Hightower. Just hope that Brady and Edelman don't have to play in the fourth quarter.
