Dominique Easley on IR and Blount reported as out for season. These strike me as the kind of injuries that are survivable if Gronk stays healthy and Edelman and McCourty return.

maybe, its the sheer amount of injuries thats troublesome. I doubt Montee ball is the answer

Can live without Easley due to depth on the line. Don't like losing Blount but I agree that getting Edelman, Hightower and McCourty back and they're the best team in the AFC.

Pats looked OK in 1st half, stinkin' the place up in 2nd. Lost Donta and Amendola to injuries which is the most concerning part of the game

Now Chung is down and out

Why does Belichick give the ball to the jets in OT? Whats the advantage except giving the Jets a chance to win?

Slater makes a mistake and gives it to the jets? Holy ****, wonder if he still has a job. ;)

Regardless of the whole issue with the coin flip, you stop them. Just like when a hockey team gets a penalty in OT. You don't want to lose on a stupid call? Kill it. You want to make up for a stupid call during a coin toss? Make them go three and out. The only words a player should be allowed to say when winning a coin toss is "we want the ball."

Given that it's the Pats, we'll probably never know exactly what happened, but I assumed that they wanted to defend an end of the field and instead of selecting the end of the field (ref actually made a mistake, he should have said "Do you want to kick or receive or elect which end of the field you want to defend?") Slater just said kick, assuming that he then got to select which end of the field he wanted to defend.

In addition to the conditions (didn't seem to me to be a factor today), there are advantages to kicking off in OT -- (1) if you can force and 3 and out, you only have to play for a field goal and (2) the rest of the game is four downs.
