Re: 2014 Stanley Cup Finals - I'm so Anze about how Quick Hank is, I'm Nashing my tee

In soon to be front page headlines....According to TSN, Brad Richards has been bought out by the Rangers! ;)

Seriously has had been a decent player for the Rangers. Not the #1C Sather thought he could be but certainly serviceable as a #2C. It's too bad the CBA screwed him. From all accounts a good guy and even though his skills have deteriorated he seemed to give it his all every night. I'm happy he played his last NYR season under AV and not Torts. I hope it showed some team he can still be of some use for the right $$$.

Hawks/Caps in DC for the 2015 Winter Classic....

Just keep going to that well NHL... Not like it will ever go dry

Not if they keep changing host cities. Great job by the NHL.

Cheer up, it's not like we lost the color guy for our TV broadcasts and the TV deal is hemorrhaging money.

I can't get past the signing a 20 year TV year deal. I didn't know Garth Snow was in town.

I'm just wondering when it's Minnesota's turn. It's the state of hockey and it should get the Winter Classic.

Hartnell has more left in the tank for sure. Rumor was that Umberger wanted out of Columbus, and I'm guessing Philly wanted out of Hartnell's deal, which is $4.75 mil/yr for another 5 seasons and has a NMC (which he obviously waived). Umberger's $4.6 mil/yr contract only has three years left, and his NTC is limited starting this year, so they could potentially dump his salary on someone else in another year if he's really awful.

Right, but unless Philly uses Umberger as another piece in a trade, I just don't see how they make out here. Not that I really care, just... Yeesh.

TCF. More oval. Wouldn't attend either way, though. It's become a circus.

Curios why you think that. I would much rather attend games at MSG but have to admit the Yankee Stadium game I attended was a great event. Wouldn't want to do it every year but once every 3 or 4 years is fine and great exposure for the NHL.

And the Kings get to ruin the Sharks outdoor game too! This is going to be a wonderful year.

I half expect them to win game 1. After all, that October game is the most important.

I got a call from my account executive from the Blue Jackets today. Umberger wanted out and the team is very excited about Hartnell. They were calling season ticket holders to make sure they knew about the deal and get feedback on the schedule.

TCF would have better sightlines, IMO. More intimate, even after the Vikings' additions to the stadium, etc. Plus it's right next to Mariucci, and from what I hear, MN wants to have the Hockey Day In MN tie-in with the pro outdoor game.

Think about that: catch one game, walk across the street to the other game(s). I have to admit, that'd be cool.

From my experience at the Detroit festivities, I found that the set up is just overall better in a football stadium, anyways. The rink takes up most of the field (maybe 20 yard line to opposite 20, or there abouts), and the seating is arranged accordingly.

While the upper infield decks at a baseball stadium offer a decent view, the field level is pretty bad.

I feel it's a cool thing to do once if you have a rooting interest, and I might do it again if Detroit is in another, but it would have to be in a football stadium.
