2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

The Wild have outplayed the Hawks in all 4 games.

Hawks fortunate they aren't down in this series or done.

Wild deserve credit.

The pivot is now obviously on Sunday.
I said on twitter I've watched at least 50 Hawks games this year and that one tonight was probably the most out of sorts and uninspired I've seen. The Wild are stingy and physical defensively and the Hawks won't go to the tough areas of the ice as a result.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

I have seen far less than 50 Hawks games and even I know that this isn't all they can do. Will they get back to form now that it's tied? Or did the Blues bang them up more than anyone thought?

Sunday ought to let us know. I'm celebrating the fact that we have another game in St. Paul for now. I'll worry about the rest later.

I don't know if the Wild's adaptability is throwing the Hawks off, or if (like you said) the previous series took a bigger toll on them than thought, or whatever. But I do know that this Hawks team is DAMN good, and the Wild cannot rest on their laurels. That'll make this a 6 game series for CHI very quickly.

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Roszival had an absolutely brutal game. The Wild seemed to key in on it in the second. Didn't mind seeing Handzus score. Good guy.

Borrowed from GPL:

I went back and looked at the shot charts--after the first period of Game 1 (where Chicago had 13), the Wild have not allowed more than 8 shots in any period since. That is some serious execution.

Looking forward to being at game 6.

This is like watching the Wild & Avs all over again.

Bollig gets 2 games. Apparently you have to unintentionally knee someone to get the hammer.

Didn't we already go through one water bottle controversy in New England? Some one find Jack Parker.

Thornton was fined $2,820.52 US for unsportsmanlike conduct

I'll just assume you're trolling with both the unintentional and nothing comments. ;)

Next time Bollig will go with the elbow to the head. Much better on the wallet.

To be fair, Spurgeon only attempted an elbow to the head. The attempt led to a collateral knee on knee hit. Though, IMO, the attempted elbow to the head was pretty egregious and deserved some sort of punishment from the league

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

When''s Bickel's suspension?

I don't want a suspension for Spurgeon - I just find it funny and completely hypocritical that the fan base that is eternally butthurt over any hit in college hockey that somehow infringes upon the honor of hockey is now incessantly complaining about a repeat offender goon piece of garbage like Cooke getting a suspension that he fully earned.

I have no complaints over Bollig's or Seabrook's suspensions. They were warranted and I haven't seen many, if any Hawks fans complain about them.

Some of you can't let the Cooke thing go and if it were college and a Sioux player that took a knee to one of your players, you'd be crying for the end of hockey as Herbie knew it.

Truth.

For me, anyway, Cooke deserved A suspension, but not 7 games. The NHL set the playoff precedent with Seabrook's suspension at 3 games for an obviously blatant cheap shot to the head. THAT'S the problem I had with the Cooke suspension.
