In the first round of this year's playoffs the Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings. Boston will now face the Montreal Canadiens, Les Habs having dismissed the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Assuming Boston dispatches Montreal it's possible the Bruins could meet the New York Rangers in the conference finals.

Taking one more step out on a proverbial limb it's possible the Bruins could then meet the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup finals. The possibility exists that the Boston Bruins could win the Stanley Cup this season by defeating each of the other Original Six teams which did make the playoffs: Detroit, Montreal, New York and Chicago. Again it's a longshot, but if it happens it would be an Original Six Stanley Cup of sorts.

Yah, but the Leafs could have lost to say, the Canadiens in some humiliating fashion, for example a sweep as their stand-ins the Lightning did, or as the Leafs did to the Bruins last year.

I think my favorite comment I've seen from Avs fans regarding the Coyle play is that it's somehow karma for the Wild employing Matt Cooke...

When Matt Cooke (Claude Lemieux) was playing on their team they cheered every move he made.

Vlasic's out with his "upper body injury" (concussion) No punishment. Stalock in. Barring him playing like a god, Kings are winning that series.

It was a fun series. At least Irwin comes in tonight, sadly for Vlasic and not Hannan or Stuart. Maybe Mike Brown will finally get benched for Game 7.

This. This right here. Christ on a cracker I hated Claude Lemieux.

On a separate note, I hope the Wild win tonight, because I'd like the series to go to 7. But I kind of want the Avs to win game 7 on a bad call. Because let's face it, nothing's funnier than the ability of a Minnesotan to ***** and moan about a bad call.
