Re: 2014 Quinnipiac Bobcats off season

I'm still hoping that a big time opponent is in the near future. A BC, BU, Minnesota, North Dakota type game would be so much fun to watch but regardless another good schedule and the ECAC will be a dog fight

All 4 of them have continued to duck us. Riga did tell me that some HE teams duck them. IE BU, BC and UNH.

Northeastern isn't ducking you. We're on your schedule for two in Hamden in early November and for a return weekend at Matthews next year. Games should be competitive and interesting. Your team should be very strong and the Huskies should be improved. I look forward to watching Sam Anas, while the home fans may enjoy watching Mike Szmatula. They were among the top two or three freshman scorers in the country last year.

I can't remember NU ever playing against Quinnipiac - even in a tournament. Correct me, if I'm mistaken.

We played at Matthews Arena awhile ago. I went to that game. Never said Northeastern ducks us. I said the other 3 have as they have never played us.

If that's the criteria, maybe you're ducking them. ;)

Twenty years of scheduling shows pretty clearly Umile isn't afraid to play quality teams, at home or on the road. And the schedule is always full of ECAC teams. There's a strong tendency for those teams to be "old foes" from the days when Dick played in the ECAC himself. Union has been a recent exception. Should Rand magically disappear from the bench [I know, not happening] and be replaced by a buddy of Dick's, I'd expect to see the Q on the schedule sooner rather than later. Speculation based on absolutely nothing, I wonder if Dick is not a fan of Rand's. Or maybe the AD's knew each other in a former life and dated the same girl. College hockey is a very small fraternity and I believe relationships have a lot to do with out of conference scheduling.

Personally, I'd like to see the Q in Durham.

Lowell's website says first game in our series against them is at their place. Our website says it's at our place. My money's on ours being wrong haha
