2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

Why is the B1G Network video (TV, not mobile) so terrible for this game? Hard to watch, makes my eyes hurt.

Couldn't tell ya. I'm watching on my phone which isn't the best, but that's because I don't get great reception and no wifi at work.

Normally I watch on my tablet via BTN2GO and its great. Not sure if this is the norm for TV broadcast.

Just out of curiosity, what is bad about it?
The players have jagged edges around them when they move (which is all the time). The iso cam in the penalty box and player close up cam looks fine, its just the wide game play camera is jagged and blurred around players.

I was just thinking (hoping) that eventually Pittsburgh could host the B1G tourney. They have everything needed, just not quite as central a location.

Think you're a little biased on that one lol

Biased in the sense that I live here, sure. However Penn State is just East of here, so it would be the closest NHL venue city for them to host. It's not out of left field to think it could happen.

First round should be 3 game series at campus sites.

Top 2 teams get a bye.

Why? I agree with the coaches in saying it's nice to know that all the teams will play in the tournament.

EDIT: And I agree with what JF said.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

I think with only 6 teams there isn't much value in adding an extra round. If/when we get to 8 teams it will change.

The only value would be to not have these games in an empty arena.

And every team would be in the tourney... starting with the best of three to get to the final 4.

I agree. However, they said in the conference call yesterday that they like it this way cause then everyone can plan on being at the tournament. Given how many people are there it didn't really matter much that they could plan ahead.

I can see the theoretical value in that but like you said, it didn't matter.

So I finally got BTN2GO to work. Anyone know how to get the game strip off the screen?

ETA: Never mind, found it.
